Quick delivery brought this ebay purchase to my door on time. My other gift for my brother came after christmas.I found it while checking a sellar's other items. This Sopranos VHS tape from the first season with actress Nancey Marchant was unrelated in nature to the Photo-cameras of my orginal item search. So the decision to get my Brother an extra gift worked perfect.. Thanks Charlie Thornton

Wanted VHS tapes of the TV series the Sopranos, and e-bay was about the only source. Good selection to choose from and competitive pricing. Sellers have delivered on a timely basis, and the products have been in good condition. I've used PayPal to buy my items on e-bay, and haven't had any problems. The process is mostly smooth and trouble-free. Guess we can say that I'm a satisfied customer !

The Sopranos: It's a Family Affair
Review created: 09/28/02
by: telynor-- a member of Epinions and Advisor in Movies

Pros:
Surely one of the strangest things to come out of Hollywood in years.

Cons:
The adult content is way up there, not for children and most adults.

Pity poor Tony. Despite a career in what he coyly terms "Waste Management Consulting," his life is rapidly going to hell. Enough to where he's going to see a psychiatrist, Dr. Jennifer Melfi (Lorraine Bracco). And that's the problem -- if anyone he knows finds out, he could get wacked. HBO put together this wicked, wild tale of Mafia shenanigans in 1999 and it's been a hit with viewers ever since. With John Gandolfini as Tony Soprano, it's the exploration of a man with a violent temper, questionable morality, and yet -- and yet you like him. We can all see in ourselves a little of Tony...

The Sopranos: A view into the secrets of the Mafioso
Review created: 07/15/01

Pros:
Excellent story line, keeps you coming back

Cons:
Not for children, graphic violence, vulgar language, nudity

I know all of us have heard of the incredible, new, innovative, brings you into the action show, The Sopranos. Many people thought it was just hype and the show would die down sooner or later just like every other sitcom mafia show that preceded it, but not this show. This show actually WAS different, actually WAS innovative and new. The Sopranos airs on HBO, and instantly became a hit. The star cast of James Gandolfini, Edie Falco, Lorraine Bracco, Dominic Chianese, and many others make this show as fantastic as it is. Many people are sick of the mafia shows constantly depicting Italians as..

Meet the head of two Families in The Sopranos ~ First Season
Review created: 01/13/06

Pros:
interesting characters, decent writing

Cons:
nothing outstanding in my mind

I can t really give you a good reason for why we started watching The Sopranos. Our library has copies of it, and they re always available. I like James Gandolfini. We were out of TV on DVD at the moment. We d heard vague, indistinct, but mostly positive buzz. All valid reasons, though none of them are really a driving reason to start watching an entire television series. As the successes of The Godfather, Goodfellas and Untouchables show, people like stories of organized crime. It offers a glimpse into worlds foreign to (most of) us, and is the perfect setting for villains we love to hate,...

Tony, a business man, or is he?

Pros:
Able to watch the whole series in one go.

Cons:
Not suitable for everyone.

We were lucky enough to be given this beautifully presented gift box, containing The complete First Season of The Sopranos. The elegant black box opens up and inside are the 4 discs. There are also great pictures of "the family" as well. Each of the first 3 discs contain 4 episodes. Disc 4 has the final episode #13 plus - Sopranos special features, including: Exclusive video interview with the creator David Chase by Peter Bogdanovich. Behind-the-Scenes Featurettes. Web-links and more. Okay. So who are the Sopranos. Tony Soprano is our hero, if you still believe in them. His wife Carmella,...

by: rodeo7 -- a member of Epinions

Pros:
Excellent story, writing, acting, music, picture quality, sound quality.

Cons:
Only 16:9 aspect ratio available, no subtitles.

A friend let me borrow his copy of The Sopranos: The Complete First Season on DVD, and I am very impressed. The show is full of great writing and acting. No wonder it won so many awards. Some of the awards the first season won are Five wins at the 2000 Golden Globe Awards including Best Television Series Drama; Three wins at the 51st Emmy s; Three wins at the 6th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards, One win at the 52nd Annual Directors Guild Awards and Seven more awards won from various other associations. The story focuses on Tony Soprano (James Gandolfino), husband to Carmela (Edie Falco),...
