Filmed in 1943, this film still brings tears and inspiration to many who watched it over and over. Jennifer Jones is absolutely marvelous as the young, religious peasant girl, Bernadette, living in Lourdes in the 1800's, who is visited by the Virgin Mary. By seeing this vision, she incurs the wrath of locals, and one man in particular, who is played by Vincent Price. This true, timeless story won Jones the Best Actress Oscar. In case you can't remember, Linda Darnell played the Virgin, but was not billed in the film.
