The Movie That Made Me Wish I Could Be a Dog: The Shaggy Dog!

Pros:
Still funny after all of these years, Clean Humor

Cons:
Black and White, Out of Date scenarios

I guess as a child each one of us had our own fantasies. For me, for as long as I could remember, I had always wanted to be a dog. Now that may seem to be sort of crazy, but to me it seemed that a dog's life was something amazing. Lassie was my favorite dog, but she was always a dog, and that didn't seem to hold much fascination to me. However, when I first saw the movie, The Shaggy Dog, that all changed. For in this film, a person actually BECAME a dog, and because of that I wanted to watch this movie over and over. Unfortunately at the time when I was younger, I could not watch The Shaggy...

Pros:
Cute story!

Cons:
Black and white.

As if Adolescence Wasn't Full of Enough Troubles

Pros:
Excellent storyline, great performances, timeless humour, "clean" fun

Cons:
the black and white may surprise some younger viewers

In 1959, having had huge success with its animations, and its two previous ventures into live action film, Disney decided to depart from well known book adaptations and film a completely original live action comedy. based upon a never before adapted and little known book by one Felix Salten The timing and cast they chose could not have been better. Fred MacMurray's was a well recognised star whose career had hit a quiet spell, Jean Hagen's was going through a run of guest-spots-on-TV-shows-itis , and Tommy Kirk and Annette Funicello were both well known to young fans of the Mickey Mouse Club,.
