My family has a death wish for every person connected to The Seven Per-Cent Solution. Ever since I saw this movie, they've had to suffer through my complete obsession with Sherlock Holmes. One day, I came upon an interesting scene on the Bravo channel. A man was having a horrible hallucination about a snake. Call me crazy, but I plopped down to watch the whole movie after seeing this. Soon, I found out that the man was Sherlock Holmes. When it was over, I scanned the cable guide to see when it would be on again. The Seven-Per-Cent Solution is a Sherlock Holmes adventure based on a novel by Nicholas Meyer (Star Trek II, Star Trek VI), who also directed this film. I've been a fan of the book for quite some time, so I finally got ahold of the DVD and watched it. The story itself purports to tell the "truth" of what actually happened in the three year period between "The Final Solution" (in which Holmes disappears and is presumed dead at the hands of Professor Moriarty) and "The Return of Sherlock Holmes."
