Movie has a very interesting take on the controversial topic. Even if you don't agree it's good to look at a variety of viewpoints before forming your own opinion.
I don't normally watch foreign films, mainly becasue I do not like being distracted by subtitles at the bottom of the screen, but what caught my eye was it was a Golden Globe winner. I was looking for a movie of substance. One that made you "think" when you left a movie theatre, one that was of the "human condition" that we all belong to, some how in one way or another. The majority of films made these days have little substance, more like eating "cotton candy"..sweet but leaves nothing behind, and of no nutritional value. I wanted a "meat and potato" movie. One that filled my mind up and stayed with me. One that would cause me to reflect on its message. This one did it beautifully. The Right to Die is a highly sensitive issue and not a easy choice for anyone, needless to say for those of us that are still healthy. Its a personal and private choice that takes into account many social and moral guidelines. This movie touched on all points. Not only of the main character wishes, but of those who loved him..his friends as well as family and all the complex relationships tied to it. I would highly reccomend this film for all to see. It is touching act of bravery and complete unselfishness of a few brave souls. A act of sincere love and compassion. In todays world we are kinder to our animals then we are to ourselves.
This movie is excellent and shows accurately the live of Ramon Sampedro. Everyone who is religious or studying another language should watch this amazing movie.
I bought this movie because i need for a school project. The thing i like the most is the it is really realistic. I think it is one of the best movies.
Phenomenal film staring Javier Bardem as a Spanish quadriplegic that is fighting to die. Based on a true story, young Ramon broke his neck during a diving accident. Very well acted all the way around and sad....effective at showing the life and dignity lost with spinal cord injuries. Another film that ponders the issues of Right to Die. Excellent film and highly recommended.
This man's character should be enough of a reason alone to watch this film....it is filled with such warmth and sorrow; I will never look at anyone in a wheel chair the same way ever again.
i really enjoyed the sea inside... very emotional... you could feel ones suffering.. i am a nurse, and felt that this film was portrayed accurately regarding the life a paraplegic lives.. great film.. keep ut tissues handy.
