This is an amazing CD. I purchased it because I heard such wonderful things about Christine Andreas and I wanted to hear her sing so I could see if any of it were true. She's truly an amazing singer. The local theatre will be showing this production later this summer, and I can't wait to hear these lovely songs live.
The Scarlet Pimpernel is my absolute favorite Broadway Musical! The lyrics and melodies are so singable and memorable... a nice mix of comedy, romance & melancholy- so clever. The story is interesting and intertwined with a love triangle set in the French Revolution, along with a heroic, swashbuckling goal disguised in comedy and mystery. The voices are glorious and expressive! MUST SEE this musical production LIVE, and then own all you can buy on Scarlet Pimpernel!

Pros: The BEST combination of music and lyrics ever....
Cons: Relatively unknown...for now
The Internet is clearly a battlefield these days....with casualties mounting weekly. Credit lines evaporate....key employees bail out...and competitors show up by the droves with similar sounding "concepts". Into that fray marches the team from Epinions.com. And yes - I believe I've found the perfect song on this terrific album to serve as their....and OUR... collective theme song. "Never hold back your step for a moment....never doubt that your courage will grow...hold you head even higher....and into the fire we go". If you've read the New York Times article "Instant Company" that is linked.

Pros: Wonderful music!
Cons: None
After listening to Jekyll and Hyde (which is brilliant!) and hearing Frank Wildhorns music for the first time, I went on a search for other Wildhorn musicals. The first I came across was The Scarlet Pimpernel. I previewed some of the songs first and decided I had to get this CD, and I am so glad I did! This is a terrific musical! All of the songs are great...from the majestic and royal sounding overture to the reprise of Into The Fire. It also has some of the most moving songs I have heard on Broadway such as Where's The Girl and Prayer. I highly recommend this CD to any Broadway fan and...
