Pros: Excellent story and excellent animations. Exciting!
Cons: You're kidding me!
Someone's Waiting for You, nominated for an Academy Award, is sung in this picture! This is my entry into the IT'S MY LIFE Write Off, sponsored by SusiDee34 to honor SurgRN911's great achievement of TWO years in Epinions and the writing of 200 Reviews! My sincere congratulations to Surg - I have certainly enjoyed all the ones I have read. To find a movie that depicts my life was hard. I searched and searched. The only one I could come up with was "An American Tail - Fievel Goes West," because I migrated west with my family. But Fievel is a male, so I canned that one. Then I found some...

The Rescuers: My Son Finally Spoke After Watching This Movie
Review created: 02/04/01
by: sweetcece -- a member of Epinions
Pros: Great children's adventure movie with a great deal of musical accompanyment.
Cons: There was only one sequel.
Many of you who have read my articles here on Epinions realize that I have a ten-year-old son who has autism. For the first two years of his life he was nonverbal. The only sounds that he would make were really screams and non-understandable mumbles. However, one day when I picked him up from his day care, I heard him trying to sing a song in the car. Knowing that he must have heard the song and music from something on television, I finally discovered that the song that he was trying to sing was the Rescue Aid Society theme from the Disney movie, The Rescuers. Up until that time, I never...

Diamonds are a girls best friend.

Pros: family time
Cons: you may not be able to buy it
The Rescuers is a movie I relate to childhood, filled with wonderful memories, I can remember clearly listening to the album on my Mickey Mouse record player over and over again, eventually wearing it out. I feel so lucky to be able to share that expierence with my son now. The release of the Rescuers on video is such a joy!!! Bianca ~ who could ever forget this beauty of a mouse, beautifully done by Miss Eva Gabor, so sophisticated and ever so charming, a true woman in every sense. Stubborn and brave with just a dash of brashness. She is a delight, as our Heroine. Bernard ~ ahh another male..

Nice enough, but not exactly up there with Disney's best
Review created: 04/07/08

Pros: Madame Medusa, the odd inventiveness
Cons: Feels tired in places, fairly childish
The Rescuers is one of those Disney animated films that was once arguably as popular as the likes of Snow White and 101 Dalmatians, though after all these years, seems a bit obscure. It did well enough to earn a sequel that was actually made by the main Disney animation department (The Rescuers Down Under), but I can't imagine kids today preferring to watch this all the time when they've got the likes of Ratatouille and Enchanted also on DVD. I remember watching The Rescuers a bit as a young child and loved it very much so. But to be honest, I have to say that The Rescuers doesn't hold up all.
