I bought the Red Violin because I liked the movie when I saw it on the tv. I now can see the movie at my leisure. It is a long movie that you need to pay attention to. I also liked the ending. Very down to earth as to how people feel.
Many people dont realize that the red violin is in fact a journey to consider the treatment that beautiful art and indeed beautiful women have had historically in their desire to be captivated and most rightly appreciated by the best possiblle admirer. In this respect it is in fact a metaphorical tale. Its a bit of a strech for some however that ultimately is the sum of the tale thats told here. In an age where evryones views are deemed equal it becomes a bit of a farce to maintain otherwise or to seek to hold on to what you feel is yours in this respect in the way of a truly deserved place in the line to acquire and appreciate things for their true worth. A brillaint movie with rich settings in various locales including scenes shot in Italian in China settings too along with Germanic/Austrian where its most impressive on the characters that come to appreciate its worth.
I have used ebay a few times and have had nothing but good things to say!! But I ordered the Red Violin for a friend for her birthday. First the person that I bought it thru held my moneyorder for 30 days, which that is fine although it was late for her birthday. I was told that I would have confirmation by June 23. When I checked on June 23rd I found out that the guy that I bought the dvd thru had closed his account! When I sent it to ebay regarding the problem I was sent a message that there was nothing that could be done! So now I am worried about using this system b/c who is to say that I will get what I purchased and then if I don't from what I understand nothing will be done about it!
... This film is a work of art, much like the Red Violin herself, taking us all on a journey not just through time, but tragedy and triumph as well. And I defy anyone to sit through the last twenty minutes of Samuel Jackson (Charles Morritz) part of the story without becoming nervous - I shan't spoil it for those as yet unfamiliar with the plot, but it's one of the best "oh, please, hurry, go faster!" moments in cinema! And the musical score - magnificent, evocative, sensual..I could rhapsodize further, but just watch the movie, and let "Le Violon Rouge" capture you, as she has so many before you..! ;) ...
Seldom do I ever watch a DVD twice in the same year, much less the same DAY! The Red Violin is entertaining, enchanting, wondefully cast and the music is INCREDIBLE! It appeals to any age group. The story follows the violin from the Old World craftsman creating the perfect violin for his beloved pregnant wife through the current day. The adventures, in vastly different societies and generations all around the world, touch all the emotions from the depths of sorrow to the heights of passion! It is certainly a movie to see and to own, to watch over and over again.Take my word, you will not be the same after you see this film!
