Pros:
Handsome brain-damaged "Killer" (James Caan) gives an Adam Sandler-esque performance.
Cons:
Lightweight Shirley Knight a weak lead. Robert Duvall plays a poorly realized minor character.
The latter half of the 1960s played-out to the emergence of a new breed of film maker. More sophisticated audiences grew to favor fewer back-lot productions for the added dimension of films shot on location.
