This is the 2nd book I've read by Tolle, and it is a keeper, as it is pack with practicle wisdom!!!

It is spiritual advice, and is applicable to everyday life. I liked this book because it encourages meditation in a simple, down to earth manner!

i have received the book and already gone through it. it is so good that i wish to read it again and again. thanks to the author for bringing out such an excellent book.

I was having difficulty understanding the Buddhist concept of 'mindfulness' when I chanced across the Power of Now. This book bridged that gap for me. I bought the book (in hardback, which I rarely do), the audio book and both sets of meditation cards. If there had been tee-shirts and bumper stickers, I'd have bought them too.

One of the best things about this book is that Tolle tells you to stop reading for a bit every time you come to an 'S' shaped graphic. The concepts are not something you are going to 'get' the way you would reading other sorts of informational texts, like a diet book or business text; it's not something you can pick up, blitz through and attempt to implement into your life in a couple of days. It has to percolate a bit, seep in, and become part of you, slowly by slowly.

At the same time, once you start to discover the power of now, life seems a lot more simple, and you wonder why you didn't 'get it' before.

The concepts also come in two card deck editions. You can determine an area to focus on, by shuffling the cards and picking one at random, or select one based on what you think you need to focus on. They come in a box that sets up to form an easel, which you can keep on your desk at work, or display on your nightstand or other prominent place in your home as a reminder.

This book reaffirmed my beliefs in all that matters. I can hold my head high as I plow through all of life's obstacles.

The book is in great condition. It arrived well packaged and was delivered quickly! It was all the seller promised it would be. I am very pleased with this book.

This is THE most powerful book I have ever read. It provides the key to peace and joy. It is truely life transformative.

Hard to keep your attention. Kind of like reading English literature.
He leaves you wondering why he chose to use so many words to describe his point.
When his last sentence describing his point, always ties it up for you in the end. In the meanwhile, you have to read through all the rhetoric in between.

It's not a quick read, you will keep putting it down because he loses your attention and then picking it up another day, trying it again.

I can't recommend this book, it is too tiresome to read.
But he does make some good points, when you finally get to them.

I bought this book because I read one of his other books, first, "A New Earth". The "Power of Now" was written before "A New Earth" and much of it was helpful in understanding his latest book, "A New Earth". I recommend reading "The Power of Now", first, if possible.

This book will change your current mind set or it will be meaningless to you if you are not ready to be enlightened, and that's ok because not all of us are ready for this at the same time. If you are seeking Spirituality rather than just Religion or Idealology then this book is a must read for you. It takes us deeper into the pre conditioned thoughts that we live with everyday and teaches us to focus in the "Now", "the Present Moment." The author explains the destructive power the ego has in our everyday thought processes and how we can begin to recongize it in order to make the changes necessary to be awakened. Powerful and inspiritional! Weather you consider yourself a victim in this life, or a pretty successful person; this teaching can enhance your Human Expeirance.

The Power of Now by Eckhart Tolle (2004) is an excellent motivational book, also might want to check out A New Earth by this author too, both are on Oprah's book club list I think.

This is the first book that answered for me how to clear my mind, or be of "no mind" without meditation. It had the answers I have been seeking. Easy read.

I loved it. absolutely beautiful and full of truth in the most simple way. i love the fact that the guidelines for finding peace are so simple and because they are so simple we may don't care but let me tell you that it works great!!!!

The Power of Now (TPON) has the power to fundamentally and profoundly change your life if read with an open mind (or "no-mind" - inside joke). It gives you a radically different perspective on life and teaches you to find peace within, no matter your outer circumstances. Some may find the reading a bit difficult at first, but keep with it and all will become clear as the author's concepts become easier to understand. Don't let the subtitle "a guide to spiritual transformation" scare you off...Tolle writes from a non-denominational viewpoint and his insights are more psychological than religious, although you will likely want to explore your spiritual side more deeply once you read TPON. His concepts are strongly influenced by Zen Buddhism, but you wouldn't know that unless you've already studied Zen. I like how he explains some of Christianity's confusing concepts with clear interpretations of Jesus' teachings. But the overall concept is in becoming truly "aware/conscious" in the present, and letting go of neurotic mind-patterns: very simple, but not easy. TPON will give you practical ways to practice this. It's a bit repetitive, but sometimes re-stating the same concept in a different way will reach different readers more clearly. It only serves to drive home the book's excellent principles. Highly recommended for anyone on a spiritual path as well as those just wanting a happier, more peaceful and loving life.

I saw the movie DOWN THE RABBIT HOLE, which I recommend to those interested in the power of their mind. The power of now is a very good complement. Efficient and very interesting.

Perfect condition, new, still in shrink wrap. I'm just into the beginning, I find it fascinating, a bit hard to follow, but like I said, I'm still in the beginning 1/3.
