A new Christmas Classic!
6 of 6 people found this review helpful.
We all love to watch our classic Christmas shows. You can add this one to the shows you'll make sure your children and grandchildren see every year. A wonderful story about a boy who is starting to 'grow out' of Christmas and no longer believe in the magic of Christmas. He discovers along the Polar Express to the North Pole about Christmas and the thruth about Santa Clause.
A very cute story that every child should experience!

Pros:
A delight from beginning to end. Hanks again lives up to his amazing acting abilities
Cons:
None
Two key Academy award winners of Forest Gump have once again come together to make a terrific film. That films director Robert Zemeckis has the Forest Gump star Tom Hanks playing a leading and a multitude of roles in his adaptation of the Children's story The Polar Express. The BOOK The children's book, The Polar Express has been popular for its story line and fine illustrations. It was the winner of The Caldecott Medal. I always thought of it as an adult book that kids might enjoy. I feel much the same about the movie. As an adult I was drawn into it and fortunately I was in an audience...

The Polar Express is a Magical Christmas Movie

Pros:
Nice story. Beautiful animation.
Cons:
It seemed a tad long. Characters looked weird at times.
I have been looking forward to seeing The Polar Express for a long time now. I first heard that this movie was being made several years ago. I had heard the story once and enjoyed it. I did think it could make a nice movie. I do like to see Christmas movies this time of year, so that added to me wanting to see the movie. I enjoyed this movie more than I did Christmas with the Kranks. A young boy was in bed on Christmas Eve. His parents thought that he was asleep, but he wasn't. He was waiting to try to discover if Santa Claus was real or not. He had been having doubts about Santa. There were..

Midnight Train To Santa (LNM III WO)
Review created: 12/03/04
by: pmills1210-- a member of Epinions and Advisor in Movies
Pros:
A simple lesson about Christmas
Cons:
Slow moving and not very special
The magic of Christmas often leaves children as they near adolescence. Such is the case with Hero Boy (Daryl Sabara), whose parents notice this change one Christmas Eve. The holiday celebration still has meaning, but the talk of Santa Claus has become just talk. After his family has gone to bed, the boy gets a surprise visit in "The Polar Express." A magical train pulls up in front of his house, but he views the invitation to head to the North Pole from The Conductor (Tom Hanks) with some reluctance. As the train starts to pull away, he boards, and meets other children invited for the ride....

The Polar Express
Review created: 01/03/05

Pros:
lovely message, beautiful film
Cons:
animated character faces look odd, could make your child question Santa
Now that all the excitement (and planning) of Christmas is over, I finally found a chance to take my 6 year old son to see The Polar Express yesterday. I had heard mixed reviews of the film, so I was a bit hesitant about seeing it in the theater, but Alex has been wanting to see The Polar Express since it came out. We went, got my mother to come along as well, and we all enjoyed the film. As most people likely know by now, The Polar Express is a film based on the children's book of the same name. The book was written and illustrated by Chris Van Allsburg, and has become a Christmas classic....

Christmas has always been one of my favourite moments of the year. The thought of getting presents from your family and friends, the idea that this is when our Lord Jesus Christ was born and the idea that this is a time when we give and share the love around. What can beat that? Along with all the excitement that comes along with Christmas are the various movies and books that come out emphasizing the importance of Christmas. Who could ever forget the movie It's a Wonderful Life? Or forget Raymond Briggs' Father Christmas series? Among the books I read, Chris Van Allsburg's Polar Express...
