Pros: Wonderful fun!
Cons: Occasionally lose a lyric or two

Pros: quick fun patter, soundtrack of entire show
Cons: Linda Ronstadt as Mabel
I purchased this soundtrack while I was working for a theatre currently producing a version of "The Pirates of Penzance." Even after hearing the music nightly for months I enjoy popping the CD back in and living the show all over again. The soundtrack contains every word from the script (including the handful that are spoken between numbers) and follows the complete plight of Frederic, Mabel, Major General, and (my favorite) the Pirate King. You may find that the complete libretto (which is also included) is helpful, also. The casting is almost completely on the mark. Kevin Kline is great as..
