The Pirate Movie (2005, DVD)

Funny in a cheezey sort of way. Great costume designer and locating setting. The actors did a good job with the script they were given. Good for familys or a pirate theme party.

I Bought this movie on ebay and it was my 1st time ever watching it. I didn't get the pleasure seeing this when it 1st came out. All in all it was a fun movie to watch. I Highly recommend it for all Kristy Mcnichol fans.

love the movie, was very hard to find title . shipping was very slow to well worth the wait. this was a movie i loved as a kid and could not find it anywhere but when i saw it on ebay i had to have it . the movie came just as described in its original art work box and when i watched it for the first time it brought back so many child hood mempries.

I loved this movie, I had already seen it numerous times as a young girl. I have recently started collecting the movies I loved from the 80's and 90's. This was one to have.

Loved this movie when it originally came..Discovered recently it was on DVD, so logged into Ebay to see if anyone was selling a copy & found one available so bidded on it & was delighted I had won the bidding and now have this movie in my DVD library....

I bought it for my sister (who lives far away from me). We use to watch this movie at our Gram's (May She Rest in Peace). It brings back memories. The last time visiting with my sister, she mentioned it. I thought it would make a nice surprise gift.

I have been looking for this movie for sometime; unsuccessfully. That is, until a friend of mine suggested looking on ebay. I'm completely amazed the number of different things one can find on ebay. I absolutely love this movie and was grateful to have finally found it utilizing ebay.

Such a funny musical I like this version much better than the stage show. The film is a great look at 80's humor and filmmaking. I highly recomend this film.

An all time classic. Had to buy it because it reminded me of my childhood. A very good buy and a great price and service too.

Very funny. More for teens perhaps, or a chick flick.... but charming and different. Starring Kristie McNichols from Eight is Enough and Christopher Atkins from The Blue Lagoon.Not your everyday love story!

The Pirates of Penzance as you have never seen it. Loads of classical Gilbert and Sullivan songs and story line, intersperced with new songs and slightly more adult slantings. Kristy McNichol and Christopher Atkins have a real chemistry that they really show well on the screen. Ted Hamilton as the Pirate King is awesome, sings well and very physically perfect in the role. I have watched it several times since receiving it. So very happy they put it on DVD!!!!

just fine the movie was for my kids, they seem to enjoy it, i have not watched it and i am tired of everytime i buy a book or movie on here ebay wants you to review it,, who cares if you want it you are going to buy it right???? hope this meets the hundred characters,,

Love the songs and music that are in this musical. Kinda Funny too. I used to watch this movie all the time when I was younger. It was made in the early 80's so it looks like a old movie. I hope they make a newer version of this movie.

Bought the movie as a Christams gift for my sister. We use to watch it all the time when we were little. She had no idea she would ever open a gift at Christmas and see The Pirate Movie! It was funny. SHe watched it the next day and said "newly digital enhancements" for DVd were still lacking, but what do you expect froma movie made in 1982! She loved! Great shipping, not damaged and time frame was spot on!

I waffled between Good & Below Average for this movie, so settled on Average. How can that be, you say? Well, first the Below Average: despite its title and "teenish" lead actors, it's got lots of sexual references and at least one scene of comical impending rape. Most of this would go over the heads of little kids but still... Also a little swearing. I would recommend only for kids 13 & up, or as young as 9 if they have been around adults a lot and are relatively sophisticated (like my only child). Now, for adults - corny acting, corny dialogue, but - for the Good part - it kinda grows on you like good camp does. Singing is not bad, and of course since it's the music from Gilbert & Sullivan's Pirates of Penzance, the music itself is great. Watch it with another adult after 10 p.m. and after you've had a couple of beers - or whatever - expecting only camp, and you'll probably have a few good laughs. Don't expect good art.

A MUST SEE!!! This movie "jollied my roger!" The cinematography and choreography was amazingly exceptional, the best I have seen bar none to date!
