Love this book it hit close to home for me because of the similarities in my life and the main character. I felt the pain ,the family experienced after the death of a significant other. This validates for me lifes unexpected twists that hit all of us in painful ways. The secrets that unfold from a husband ,whom you sure you know so well , yet you find you don't know at all. This is compelling because we all have a partner we think we know inside and out. Yet through death, divorce or separation we sometimes learn there is another entirely different person we don't recognize. It was a good book to curl up with and read.

The Pilots Wife, by Anita Sherve, 1999,
Review created: 12/11/07

A touching story with a slow start for just a few pages and then it grabs you and you simply must know the end of the story. Sure has enough twists and turns to keep you guessing. I rate it par excellence. How could anyone jusge this book to be poor or below average? Five star in my opinion. Keep up the good work! The book is softcover and has hardly any signs of wear. Clean and crisp, no markings. Edges of the pages have very slight yellowing. Shipping for this book is $2.95 via media mail. Thanks for looking and do not let this one slip by you.

I loved this book! i have never read any other books from this author but i definately plan too. When i bought this book i thought it might be ok. Honestly it seemed kinda boring. But the first few pages in i was hooked. It is a story about love, life and secrets. I would definately recommend this book.

thought the book was good. I read other books by this author and actually felt the other books were better, but this is a good story and somewhat suspenseful. I like how the auther jumps back from past to present day situations. Overall I would recommend this book to others.

I absolutly LOVED this book! I'm not a HUGE reader, but when i picked up this book and started it, i just COULDN'T Put it down! It's very easy to follow and the story just seems to fall into place.
It's like you are apart of their lives, and that you know the characters! It's a great read!

I loved this book as well. I think this book was fantastic. Shreve finds a way to make the story grab you off your seat and want to read more. When the story was over I was a bit dissapointed because I wanted more. It was very great. I highly recommend reading this book.

Good but kind of drags on

I got this book in a lot of Oprah books. It was pretty good but kind of took a really long way to get to the plot and then when it did, it very quickly glossed over the plot. I never really did understand some of it - won't say to much, don't want to give it away. Worth the read but needs work.

This was the first Anita Shreve book I read and I fell in love with it and her style of writing. The book literally grabs you from the first chapter...frankly, I couldn't put it down. I have read other Shreve books but I have mixed reviews on a few of them. This was my favorite so far of hers.
