Loved the Original so the remake was an easy decision. I loved the way they used updated angles and effects to bring this awesome movie to todays standards. The director had a great vision and used originality at key scenes in the picture. I would reccomend this movie to any fan!
The critics. 95% of the critics liked the original Omen as opposed to this one here. I have to disagree. They focused a bit more in the story in the original and this one was more of a thriller. I did like the original, but for most modern day movie fans, especially for horror, you'd appreciate this one more.
I had seen the "first" Omen movie with Gregory Peck a few years back, and I must admit it didn't scare me much. The reason for that was that the little boy who played Damien just did not strike me as scary and demonic at all, and therefore I didn't like the movie a whole lot.
The new version, however, is completely different. Seamus Dave Fitzpatrick, who plays Damien, is absolutely brilliant and just has such an evil aura around him in the movie that he absolutely has you convinced he is the devil's son. Everyone else also plays brillantly, (I especially loved Mia Farrow's performance,) and I thoroughly enjoyed the movie. The new version of "The Omen" definitely surpasses the original in my opinion.
Well, this movie it is pretty much like the orignal one just a little bit better, and I do mean just a little bit. I collect movies and mostly horror movies, and I will say this one is not one of my favorites but I am glad that I have it for my collection, and I did enjoy it a little it wasn't to bad or anything like that it's just that when I watched it I felt I already saw it a few times. I will give this movie a 3.5 Star rating out of a 5.
