OK, I was a bit concerned when I first learned that an American version of "The Office" was on the way. As a huge fan of the original British series I was very skeptical of this "intruder". However, I started to feel a bit better when I found out that Steve Carell (The 40-Year Old Virgin, The Daily Show) would play the lead. After the first episode finally aired on NBC I was still concerned since it was pretty much an exact clone of the British series but just not as good. However, by episode 2 the series began developing its own identity and I have been a fan ever since.
<p>I won't go into too much detail and ruin anything, but I would like to point out that Steve Carell is brilliant in the lead role and the supporting players are superb. The shows are well written and there are plenty of "Did they really just say that?" moments. Without hesitation I can comfortably recommend this wonderful series to all!

Based on the hit BBC sitcom, The Office: Season 1 is the Americanized version of this hysterical sarcastic and funny mockumentary of working life. Steve Carrell wonderfully plays Michael Scot – the idiotic simpleton manager who controls a less-than-stellar group of analysts. Carrell considers himself a masterful academic and manager – and that’s half the fun of it. The other half? The show is shot as a “mockumentary” (think Best in Show, Waiting for Guffman, the BBC Office series, etc) and is part from Correll’s point of view and part from the employees’ point of view.
If you’ve worked in a cubicle – you will somehow relate to the antics and relationships forged in this show. If you enjoyed “Office Space” – this is the sitcom version – but somehow more sadistic and satirical. If you like the “Meet the Family” make-you-feel-uncomfortable humor, this show thrives on it. If you like Steve Correll, The Daily Show, or The 40 Year Old Virgin, you’ll love The Office.
And like Arrested Development, The Office takes a little patience and getting used to. Its very different than the traditional Friends sitcoms – it truly strange and that’s part of the fun. So watch a couple episodes, get into the series and you’ll be hooked!

thought it would be funny...NOT.Iam disappointed in the video. I heard this was funny and it is not. I would not have bought this video if not for resources telling me it is good. I will not buy any other seasons.

A great show...very funny. Not what I was first expecting, as I had never seen the British version of the show. I got hooked while Season Three was on TV, and have never missed an episode since. My favorite show on TV right now.

The first season of The Office is great. This season only has six episodes, while the later seasons have 20+ episodes. The whole series is amazing and incredibly funny, you will love it.

Excellent dvdThis is an excellent series and is very funny!The entire season one is on the dvd with every episode included in the price. I am very much interested in buying seasons two, seasons three, seasons four, and any other season that has this show.The cast of this show is very consistent and the writers have done a great job keeping the characters consistent. I would like to see this series continued for a long period of time. The price for this season long dvd was very fair, the shipping was minimal, and the delivery was very fast.

I was excited to see episodes from Season 1 - already owned both Season 2 & 3. There are only 6 episodes on this disk and was disappointed one episode has no sound. Tried on a couple different DVD players, and it didn't work on either. A little bummed there wasn't a note about this in the product description.

What can you say about one of the funniest shows on TV? The Office is hilarious, easily one of the top 5 funniest shows I have ever seen. Season 1 is where it all begins. Its a bit awkward at times, especially if you have watched seasons 2-4, the characters arent quite as refined yet, but still hilarious. I would recommend this show to anyone, very funny!
I only wish Season 1 was more than 6 episodes, that is the only downfall, but well worth getting.

The posting was confusing...it listed Season 2 but had information on Season 1. The disc worked, it was just not the whole season...there were @ least 3-4 missing discs. I don't understand why you would sell one disc of a set. Odd communications w/the seller too. They asked if I really thought I was going to get a whole set for $.99?! Well...ya...I did!

I bought The Office-Season One for my daughter's 13th birthday. We are both already huge fans of the show, and have viewed season one already, as reruns. The Season One dvd includes the six original episodes, a lot of extended play deleted scenes(not just the choppy clips some collections show), and commentary. The DVD itself is easy to navigate and a pleasure to watch again and again! We can't wait to share it with people that haven't seen the show yet!

The chemistry is amazing amongst this cast. I laughed and laughed and between the tricking Dwight into the blonde hair for disguise to the stapler in the jello... this is "The Office", or at least how it should be.
