The Million Dollar Quartet - Presley, Elvis (CD 1990)

It is absolutely horrible. Almost the entire disc is ramped up Gospel songs, and the quality of the recording is terrible. I'm sure a die hard Elvis fan will say it's the greatest thing ever made, but in my opinion it never should have been released at all. It sounds even worse than some of the most amateur "garage band" releases.
Why they didn't try to remaster it, or clean it up even a little, is beyond me.

An "Excellent 5/5" rating for this CD is NOT enough... it should be OUTSTANDING at Million/Million ! Listening to this CD is like being there at Sun Studios in Memphis, TN on December 4, 1956 with Elvis, Johnny, Carl, Jerry Lee, etc... you not only get the spontaneous music that they just feel like playing; but also the priceless banter between the musicians. Just hanging out together, talking about what they've just done; where they've been; how they feel about certain songs and what they want to do...and granted, it is dominated by Elvis, (and there is nothing wrong with that!!) but apparently that is how it was. I can't imagine anyone who enjoys ELvis' music and the music as it began back in Sam Phillip's world of Sun Studios not wanting this CD as part of their collection. Thank you so much, Sam, for your foresight in getting this down on tape!
