Norah Jones explores more country/blue grass roots in this charming project. My favorite tracks are the peppy covers of Roly Poly, and Tennessee Stud. Recomended for all Norah Jones fans.
i SAW THIS GROUP PERFORM ON THE DAVID LETTERMAN SHOW. WHAT A STELLAR PERFORMANCE. I JUST NEW I HAD TO GET THIER CD. I PLAY 5 OR 6 SONGS TO DEATH..MAYBE 20 TIMES A DAY WHILE IM CRUISIN. LOTS OF MY FRIENDS ALSO LIKE THE BALANCE OF BLUE/COUNTRY. I GIVE THIS CD 10 STARS AND NEVER GET TIRED OF THE SONGS..BUY IT AND YOU WILL LOVE IT!
Bought it because Norah Jones was involved. The more I played the CD the more I liked it.....It grows on you. It is light and fun to listen to; some of the songs are old and classic. I am surprised it has not been reviewed more on TV, etc.
I admit when I first listened to it, I wasn't enthralled, but it grew on me. I am a huge Norah fan, and the song Lou Reed is a hoot! If you like to sing along and enjoy a little humor, it's great. If you're looking for Americana or Country music...skip it... but as a Norah fan....YOU GOTTA have this CD!
A bunch of studio musicians get behind a marquee name to sell fake Americana. This bunch goes through the motions but doesn't have the right stuff for the genre. Buy the real thing. Hank didn't do it this way, nor do the musicians they cover. They lived it.
