The Language of Medicine by Davi-Ellen Chabner (2004)

This book gives you the basics of physiology as well as a very effective method to learn the medical terminology. I recommend it to anyone who need an easy book to learn how the human body works.

It is poorly organized. Some of diagrams' descriptions are on different pages. The reader has to flip back and forth to study. The diagrams are numbered. They should be labeled and numbered for better studying.

I ordered this book and waited for it for a while. I should have just bought it from the bookstore at my school because she ended up emailing me and telling me that she no longer had the book. Check for updates from her before you buy.

Not as indepth as I would like, but a great book for a beginner like me. It was a great alternative to purchasing the current edition and saving a lot of money, the content is exactly the same.

I loved this book! I used it for an online medical terminology course at my local college, and found it very easy to use. The layout of the book ensures finding suffixes and prefixes, as well as roots an ease. In my class set up I would be given a root, prefix, or suffix, and was then required to find the answers to each in a timed, quick fashion. I had no problems quickly and effeciently finding any and all answers within this text. I am a second year nursing student and still find need to reference this text for review or to seek out that mysterious term which escapes my memory. If you are looking for a medical terminology text with an ease of use, this one may be the one for you. Thank you for your time in reading my review!

I bought this book because I'm teaching high school physiology and need a variety of resources to keep my students engaged. They enjoy playing "dictionary" with medical terms that they've never heard before. Each team writes a definition of the word (whether they know what it is or not) and the other team has to choose the correct definition from all the ones I read. Using what they know about word roots, they can sometimes come pretty close. This book will help us all learn medical terms using the roots we've studied in class.

I bought this book to study for the Registered Medical Transcription exam. It was suggested reading in the RMT Study Guide. This is an excellent book.

I immediately saw the value and use for this book. If you are wanting to learn medical terms, this is the only way to go! I am taking a class right now and this is the one book they recommended us getting and mentioned it is a very useful, good book, and they were right! It explains things really well and has good exercises at the end of each chapter that helps you to learn it better and remember it. I have learned a lot from it and is one that I can keep referring to in the future. I would recommend this book over any other book for learning medical terms.

I this book was a required purchase for a medical transcription class I am taking. It is a great source of information, has color diagrams and easy to use worksheets for review. I have 6 other workbooks that were assigned at the beginning of the class but I dont even open them anymore as this books has everything I need.

I bought this book because I needed it for a class that I was taking. The book was in good condition, it had some writing in it but I am still able to use it. The price was unbeatable. It was delivered in a timely matter. I would use this dealer again.

It came ontime but there was more highlighting then what was described as well as writing. The first few chapters was too much. But the book was not baddly prices so i guess that is what you get for buying used.

What some people need to realize is that anything in the medical field is going to be costly. (As well as any other field). Half.com sold me a book that looks pretty new for a lot less cheaper than my school would have sold it for. I am a nursing student and I wanted this book to help my brain to connect these words within my other classes. I pay for my own way all the way and I am glad that these books are sold on this site. It was a helpful book for me.
