The Lady & Sons Savannah Country Cookbook by Paula H. Deen (1998)

This cookbook is a very good one. I had always wanted to buy one by Paula Deen as I love the recipes she prepares on her show. When I saw this on Ebay, I decided to bid on it. It's a great book, recipes are organized well, and very easy to follow.

I've always loved to watch Paula Deen, her sons, and her new husband on the food network. Her recipes look soooo delicious. The story of how she came to get into catering, cooking and publishing is amazing and inspirational. I had to look through the cookbook as soon as it arrived and everything looks scrumptious....can't wait to try some of them. Also, if I ever get to Savannah Georgia again, I have to visit the "Lady and Sons Restaurant". Guess you could say I'm a Paula Deen groupie!

I love Paula Deen's cookbooks and this one is a great addition to my collection. Her easy to follow, southern style recipes are great and most ingredients are in the average kitchen. Her television program is fantastic and I love catching her on talk shows. It gives inspiration to all women.

I got this cookbook for my mother who, every once in awhile, likes to cook some country food. I looked through the cookbook ,myself, and found several great country receips. The cookbook is throughly described by the title "Savannah Country Cookbook". I would recommend this book to anybody that loves country cooking.

This is a great book if you are looking for good old home cooking! It covers everything. I never buy cookbooks but a friend of mine made somethings that I absolutely loved and each time I asked how she made it, she would hold up this book. It is great to be able to use normal things that you already have and its written to where you can understand it. Nothing fancy just great food.

I watch foodnetwork and see some of these recipes. So I decided to buy the cookook. Has reeally good recipes.

I wanted the first cookbook of Paula's and was afaid that it was going to be discontinued so I got to looking. I was watching her bio and they suggested that it was going to be a collector's item also. I wanted to make sure that I got one. It really has some good easy recipes and good Southern Cooking! Some recipes that older generations made or it reminds you of your Grandmother, or just brings back childhood memories. The recipes are also user friendly, ingredients that you have in your cabinet or at least easy to find without having to go to a specialty shop to purchase and then only use once before they are no longer good. JUST DOWN TO EARTH COOKING.

My wife is a huge Paula Deen fan and watch her cooking shows all the time. This is our first cookbook from her and look forward to many more.This book shares a wealth of excellent recipes that the whole family can enjoy. If you enjoy to cook and are looking for something new to try out this is the book for you.. You know what Paula says "Country cooking makes you good Looking"..

Bought this for myself and when our girls were in for the holidays they ended up writing some of the different dishes down to try. I have tried a few and so far all have been very good. Love the way she cooks and look forward to trying more from this book. Would recommend it to anyone. I watch her on a regular basis and love the way she cooks, good home cooked meals and desserts.

Love Paula's down-home simplicity to cooking and enjoy her T.V. show. This was a wise investment--just reading her cookbook is a pleasure!

Excellent cook book. Great ideas, great food, easy to read. A real must have. I purchased it for my wife for Christmas and it's has been a gift we've both enjoyed.

I bought this cookbook after watching Paula Deen on television. It's an excellant cook book, very well written. Also easy to follow.

Paula Deen's 2nd cookbook....recipies are wonderful, and The Lady is The Best! She is a true inspiration to all women, especially single moms everywhere...Life can be wonderful, if you want it to be!!!!!

I bought this book as a gift for a friend but checked it out myself before delivering it and am now getting one for myself. If you like cooking with a country flair you will love this book.

This book is just okay. The recipes are very simple and more like semi-homemade recipes. Lots of store bought ingredients put together. I bought it because the recipes sounded good. It's not a bad book but I think there's better.

A friend of mine had a copy of this cookbook and after looking at the recipes I just had to have one! This cookbook is not for anyone looking for low-fat, low-carb or low-cal recipes! It is for someone who loves old fashioned southern cooking, but using some of our modern day short cuts. I love to sit down and just read cookbooks and this one is certainly worth the read!!

I bought the book because she has been so muhc hype as to her cooking being totally southern and I am married to a southern man and thought this would be a great book. There are serveral recipes that I liked and will make. I also have a make a few of her dishes and I feel mine are a little better. But she is totally southern and I am not so the varioness of the ingredients she used are either more than I would use, such as using eggs in Mac and Cheese. The first time I made her mac and cheese I folloed the recipe by the letter. Once it was on the table we all agreed that you could really tell the egg test. So When I made it again, I eliminated all but one egg and it tasted better. I do intend to try more of her recipes. She is as cute as a button.

I ordered the ccokbook by Paula Deen because I love her and her cooking program. She is so down to earth - and really charming - and knows her cooking. So I am very delighted with the cookbook, and I have been very happy with my half.com orders over the past years. This order was received quickly and the book is in great shape.

I love Paula Dean and her sons, i watch all there shows and have bought several of there cookbooks, and love each one, i enjoy the recipes so much they are comfort food, and so delicious.
