'The Kite Runner' provides excellent insight into the life of an Afghani-American and through his struggles in Afghanistan and America. For those who are culturally-challenged and seek to learn about another culture, this is a great book for you. I believe you owe it to yourself, whether you're interested or not, to read this in order to understand why we're lucky to be Americans.

Excellent book. You can't put it down. It is very insightful into
what the Afganistan culture is about. Why that part of the world
seems to not evolve and is always in conflict. You care about the
characters and want the main one to resolve his past. He seems to
have a chance finally, in america.

When I sat down to read this book, I was totally consumed by it! The story was just incredible! As soon as I finished this one, I had to go and get another book by him called "1000 Splendid Suns" (another great story!) Be sure to read the book BEFORE watching the movie, but also be sure you have plenty of uninterupted time for this book! What a great book!

Absolutely one of the best books I’ve ever read left me wanting more. Well written! Such visual reading, it's like I could picture the story presented. I couldn't put the book down. What a devastating picture the author describes of the war torn Afghanistan, torture & despicable things the Taliban did to this country and its people. Heartbreaking, and simply a must read.

This book had wonderful detail and was hard to put down. There were a few graphic parts some readers may readers may get squemish about. Good ending. The movie dose not even come close to the book.

At first I did not think I would like a book like this but once I got in to it I could not put it down. When I got to the very end I was so overcome with emotion that I cried for about 30 minutes. It is a story of two boys,two men and true love and redemption. One of my all time favorite books. You will never forget this book. I highly recommend it. Dont miss this wonderful story. Donna Kay

I bought the Kite Runner because I had heard good things about it. I started reading it the day it arrived and finished a day later. The book was so captivating I could barely put it down. Hosseini's writing style really makes you feel. As I read I felt the feelings the of the charachters. I would recommend this book to anyone.

This book stayed with me well after I read it. I found it to be an excellent read, and expect that this will be a classic read for future generations; it is set in Afghanistan, giving the reader insight into the differing lives of the people who were affected by the unrest in the country--it really focused on the individuals and the turmoil each person, particularly the main character, went through as life changed and people grew up and apart. I loved this book!

I loved it. Great book and condition was more than good.=D This buyer definitely sold what he was saying he was sold. There were no marks and the theme of the story was good. While reading I felt lots of things-- Anger, Sadness, Confusion and Frustration. I hate reading and I read this book under a week..hard to put down. =D

Great book, came quickly and in great condition. The book was in better condition than what I thought it would be, it looked like it hadn't even been used. There were no stains on it at all. The pages were in new condition none of the pages were dog eared marked. Its a well known book and I can't wait to read it. I'm waiting ti read ir on my up coming vacation. I highly recommend this book to all who are interested in reading a truthful rendition on the cultures and norms of the Afghanistan people. For those of us who have lived with comforts that we take for granted, it will open your eyes to the struggle of their daily life and the violence that is a part of it. This was a truly amazing book. It was the first novel that Hosseini's wrote and one of the best books I have ever read. I am a librarian and have recommended it to many of my patrons who have agreed that it is remarkable. It is fiction but encompasses much of the history of Afghanistan. Hosseini's second book, A Thousand Splendid Suns, in my opinion, is even more powerful. This book was a quick and easy read and will leave an impression on the reader.
