The Johnny Cash Children's Album - Cash, Johnny (CD 2006)

This CD was unexpected treasure! I was looking for a recording of "Granfather's Clock" and searched on eBay...and success! Not only is Johnny's rendition of this old childrens song a beautiful and touching version, but all of the other songs on this CD are also a special treat for the listener. The song was a favorite of my son when he was a little boy and he is now 25 and about to become a father himself, and I wanted it to give to him at the baby shower to share with my first grandchild. Thanks to the seller and eBay for making that happen.

If you have all the Johnny Cash albums this is a must have! What a wonderful way to introduce children to this great singer. The album is a bit dated, but all the better for that! I probably love it more than any others in my family!

This is enjoyment for the whole family......my son loves it, and my husband and I, being avid Johnny Cash fans never get tired of it. Very worth buying!

I bought it for my 2 year old twin son's, because my husband and I love Johnny Cash. I'm not sure who loves it more my boys or my husband!?!?! Great CD! Only thing I would change is to have June Carter Cash in more of the songs. Otherwise it is great!

I love the down-to-earth, fun-loving, real deal country flavor of this CD. Many of the songs sound like something a family might sing around a campfire. Johnny Cash is known for his deep, manly voice, but he manages to come across as a playful, lovable uncle figure here. He is not afraid to sing about real topics such as death (of old Shep his dog, of his grandfather, of the bears shot by the hunter), but the content is presented in a way that is far from morbid or inappropriate. My children love it, and I do too. I venture to guess that you might find yourself humming "A Little Blue Fountain" or "Ah Ba Cee Dah" to yourself after listening to it. This CD would be great for a family roadtrip.
