My Grand daughter was in the movie, both she and myself went to see it at the theater when it came out. Its a take off on invasion of the body snatchers, I cannot begin to tell you how bad this movie is, but I had to buy it, bad or not, Grandma's do things like this.

This is a far different film than The Body Snatchers
Review created: 04/18/08

I had heard how The Invasion was just a remake of the old The Body Snatchers. The only similarity is the transition still takes place when a person sleeps.

The opening scene, with the crash of a shuttle, sets the stage into a near believable chain of events. While never a fan of Nicole Kidman, she fits the role quite well as a psychiatrist. Daniel Craig does a fine job along with the rest of the cast. The premise of the film is that aliens are taking over the earth by introducing their DNA into our systems and converting us. Outwardly we continue to appear the same.

The Invasion moves along quickly with a good bit of action. The minutes fly by and suddenly the finale'. Good film, even if you are not a Nicole Kidman fan.:)

NICE REMAKE OF THE 50'S AND 80'S. MODERN TOUCH.

I LIKED THE MODERN TOUCHES IN THE PLOT, AND THE FEW DIFFERENT ANGLES FROM THE ORIGINAL. DID NOT LIKE THE ENDING. I EXPECTED MORE OF A SOLID ENDING. OVERALL IT WAS A GOOD MOVIE. WILL STAY IN MY COLLECTION.

A SciFi Thriller From Start To Finish FUN!!!

As a viewer of the two previous "Invasion of the Body Snatchers" I was looking forward to this one and I was not disappointed! Even my husband, who normally isn't "scared", sat on the edge of his seat.
Nicole Kidman GREAT, super ending, (much better than the Donald Sutherland version)and Veronica Cartwright has a small role, she was in the second movie also.
LOVED IT!!!

  Average remake!!!
Review created: 03/07/08

This film is another remake of the Invasion of the Body Snatchers. Althought Nicolle Kidman and Daniel Craig are in it, it is not enough to recommend. The plot is unclear at times and the ending is poor-leaving room for a sequel but who cares? Rent this --do not buy. It is worth a look but not a purchase.

This movie pretty much follows the ones of "old" which are about almost the same thing(the earth getting taken over). But do not get me wrong this movie is entertaining, I did enjoy watching this movie and I will watch it again!

I think Nicole Kidman is a good actress anyways, but the movie was a pretty good thriller. The only things I did not like about it (with not giving the movie plot away)it did not at the end really tell where the problem came from and not everything was resolved leaving it open for a part II. Otherwise it was good.

  DONT WASTE YOUR TIME
Review created: 02/27/08

Ok so i say average on this because i was a little disappointed.
It looked somewhat low budget to me. Granted it had nicole kidman in it, if it did not it would have been a total flop. It was cheesy, to much of a remake of all the other zombie movies. not recommended

This was quite a surprise! It started out rather boring but surprised me as it climaxed. On the edge of your seat, holding your breath...good movie

Nicole is nice to look at and her acting is superb. And it was fun to watch Daniel Craig on vacation from his James Bond role..a chance to see another side of his acting ability. I also very much enjoyed the character played by Jeffrey Wright who I had not seen since the Bill Murray movie Broken Flowers. Acting aside I enjoyed the story and I think this version compliments and sits proudly with its two predecessors. Excellent making-of features as well included.
This is an excellent retelling of the original 50's sci-fi flick "Invasion Of The Body Snatchers". Had me hooked right from the very beginning to the very end. My recommendation to all viewers is to first screen the original movie prior to this Kidman version because it then becomes interesting to notice the similarities between the two. However, of course, this is not necessary, for this new version stands quite nicely all by itself.
I thought Nicole Kidman and Daniel Craig did a real nice job. And just for the record I have never been a fan of Nicole Kidman. I think if you look at the film as it's own entity instead of comparing it to the original Body Snatchers you make like it a little more.

Nighty, night, don't let the Invasion bug bite.

Pros:
Cast, production value.

Cons:
Choppy pacing, predictability.

The Invasion (2007) is a big budget movie initially directed by German film director Oliver Hirschbiegel and later James McTeigue. The film immediately begins in flashback mode showing Dr. Carol Bennell (Nicole Kidman) a psychiatrist rambling through pharmacy shelves searching for drugs and caffeine inundated drinks. The scene then moves to the accidental crash of the Patriot Space Shuttle. This incident is investigated by CDC Dr. Tucker Kaufman (Jeremy Northam) who is given a piece of the shuttle by a little girl. Infected by the space shuttle s fragment, he returns home bypasses a late...

Pros:
Fast paced, great special effects and make-up

Cons:
Those who have been invaded are a bit wooden...

I've always been a fan of Science Fiction movies especially films about Aliens from space of all kinds and sizes and, when I was a kid, I was terrified by the original movie, The Invasion of the Body Snatchers, with those pods that absorbed the mind and thoughts of those it were put next to it while they slept then, years later, another version of that movie came out and it was pretty good too then last year, one of my favorite TV shows of the season, featured another kind of Body Snatcher when newly hatched former humans emerged out of the oozing Everglades after a hurricane hit the...

Nicole Kidman and Daniel Craig Battle The Invasion
Review created: 03/26/08
by: dragonfire88-- a member of Epinions and Advisor in Movies

Pros:
Good cast and interesting idea for the plot

Cons:
Not suspenseful or interesting enough. Predictable for the most part.

I have enjoyed most of the movies that I have seen Nicole Kidman in and I am usually willing to give her movies a chance. I thought that The Invasion had potential when I saw trailers for it. I was only recently able to see the movie after finally renting it. Unfortunately it didn't live up to the potential. The space shuttle Patriot exploded when it reentered the atmosphere to land and debris was scattered all across the country. Tucker Kaufman, who worked for the CDC, became infected when a young girl came up to him and handed him a piece of the shuttle. Once Tucker went to sleep, the alien.

The Invasion - The "Discovery Channel" remake of a classic
Review created: 02/02/08
by: t13monkeys-- a member of Epinions and Top Reviewer in Movies

Pros:
aliens of course

Cons:
Nicole Kidman as robot psychologist, lack of characters and plot, long pseudo-science explanations

The 2007 remake of The Invasion of the Body Snatchers unfortunately is a dud. The problem lies in its paltry attempts to update the storyline for modern audiences. Screenwriter Dave Kajganich decides for some weird reason that The Invasion should be like The Discovery Channel and wastes precious screen time wallowing in the science-fiction reality by showing us in vivid 3d cells being consumed by a foreign parasite of some sort and literally rewriting the DNA. As a biologist, it s nice they tried to put effort into creating a plausible explanation for alien life and blah blah, but really now,.

The Invasion...a mirror of our fears.

Pros:
Remake of a classic, genuinely creepy, brilliant in spots.

Cons:
A bit choppy.

The Invasion (2007) Directed by Oliver Hershbeigel and James McTeigue This remake of the 1956 classic Invasion of the Body Snatchers owes much to the subsequent remakes; the 1978 superlative remake, and the more forgettable 1993 remake, Body Snatchers. The original featured the now infamous Pod People, with large vegetative seed pods that produced the clones. In 78 the pods had shrunk to small parasitic flowers, and now the alien invaders are a virus. The Plot Dr. Carol Bennell (Nicole Kidman) is a psychologist. She notices several strange phenomena, changes in people s behavior; her son...
