Alan Jackson has a style that is not quite classic country, but retains that base .. This album does a very good job of putting together the popular hits and music of A.J .. This is a very good selection for the collection .. I would have given it an excellent rating .. BUT .. I'm hoping his best stuff is coming ..
I LIKED THAT THE CD WAS IN ALMOST NEW CONDITION, NO SCRATCHES. I LOVE THE MUSIC, DECIDED TO PURCHASE IT DUE TO THE PRICE WAS RIGHT AND SO WAS THE SHIPPING.
It's Alan Jackson, need I say more!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Wonderful !!!! Much Wanted -- Much Loved -- Superb music for everyone who is a fan of Alan Jackson and for those who like all types of music -- love songs, story songs, country songs, rock-a-billy, dance, feel good, laugh and cry music with heart, soul, and inspiration. My 7, 9, and 13 year old children like to listen and sing along. A good variety to hit replay on the CD player!
This is Alan Jackson at his best. A fun, upbeat collection of 20 songs. This cd was released in 1995 so it is his older titles. A great CD for the money. If you like country you will love this cd. If you don't like country watch out, you may get hooked.

Pros: All the songs are good, and there are lots of them!
Cons: None
At the risk of undermining the trust others have placed in my previous opinions, I'll admit that I am a fan of country music, and moreover, that Alan Jackson is far and away my favorite country singer, Ford truck commercials not withstanding. Perhaps I'm biased by the fact that his range is nearly identical to mine, so I can sing along effortlessly to all of his songs. Which is not to suggest that I personally have any potential as a country music star -- I am visibly lacking such necessities as a cowboy hat and a 6 inch mustache, although having grown up in North Carolina I can fake a...

A powerful collection from a class act

Pros: An album you can play beginning to end and never be tired
Cons: Jackson's too-modest and somber liner notes
There is danger in purchasing Alan Jackson's Greatest Hits album. Danger first in its near-immediate obsolescence. Jackson is one of country music's most consistent home-run hitters, a perennial chart-topper whose singles could fill greatest hits albums every four months. To purchase this collection, the listener must be prepared to watch sadly as Jackson outdoes its content again and again. There is also danger for listeners who purchase this album believing that they have no need to own his others. While the greatest hits compilation usually catalogs an artist's commercial success, it...

Pros: well written lyrics, great voice, variety of songs
Cons: none
I have had this CD for over a year now, and I will admit before I heard it I could not stand country music. A friend, not knowing what I liked, gave it to me as a birthday gift. But after hearing his songs, it made me hear country in a whole new way. Alan Jackson is amazing. And this greatest hits CD has his best songs ever on it. My personal favorite song of all time is on this CD, its called "I'll Try". It has a total of 20 great songs. What makes Alan Jackson so special, I think, is his ability to sing such different types of songs. Some of them are slow, love songs, some tell stories,...

I Know His Name

Pros: Memorable songs--including some that grow on you
Cons: Doesn't include "Itty Bitty"
If you're not country, you may not want to rush out and buy Alan Jackson'Greatest Hits Collection. Unless, of course, you're female and attracted to tall, good-looking men in cowboy garb. But if there is any country in you, this is a must-have addition to your music library. Alan Jackson first came to my attention when my oldest daughter developed a crush on him. His "Chattahoochee" was a big hit, and since I grew up in Georgia--once living on the banks of that venerable river--the song, and then the man, attracted my attention. In many "Greatest Hits" collections, 2 or 3 of the songs are..

Pros: Many of his best country hits; great sounding music.
Cons: None.
Alan Jackson is a well accomplished Country star, and this CD has his every hit. This CD is filled with songs that I have always liked and listened to. I have always enjoyed his music, and this Alan Jackson CD is the perfect CD for any fan. It has great songs like "Gone Country" and "Chattahoochee". A couple of other good songs are "Tall, Tall Trees" and "Livin On Love". This is a great Country classic and will continue to be for a long time. I recommend this as a great gift idea and a great CD for any Country music fan. I will give Alan Jackson and this CD five stars well earned stars.
