The Godfather DVD Collection (2001, DVD)

I rate "The Godfather" 10 out of 10-great cast, great screenplay-killer one-liners (and long liners), Coppola's directing shines as does Al Pacino, Marlon Brando, James Caan, Robert Duvall, Richard Castellano, Diane Keaton, and many more in the classic epic. I rate the sequel "The Godfather: Part Two" 9/10. It was pretty good, but the first one is still the best. Good directing, it really does lead up a lot to the first movie. Al Pacino leads the cast which includes Robert Duvall, Diane Keaton, Lee Strasberg, Michael V. Gazzo, John Cazale, Talia Shire, and in his Oscar* winning performance as Vito Corleone-Robert De Niro. Great screenplay with many more classic lines, sucj as "ROCCO, ALIVE!", "You broke my heart, Fredo", and "Keep you friends close, but your enemies closer". Then there was "The Godfather: Part Three"-all I can say is the more sequels, the worse the films get. I rate Part 3 7/10, it just didn't have the mix of the first 2, due to the fact that (for various reasons) many characters from the first two weren't in it. Directing-pretty good-acting-good-screenplay-ok. Stars Al Pacino, Diane Keaton, Talia Shore, Andy Garcia, Eli Wallach, and Joe Mantegna. In all, this is a great film series-Part One earned 11 Oscar nominations-including 3 Best Supporting Actor nominations, and it won 3, including Best Actor-Marlon Brando. Part Two earned 11 as well, winning 6, including Best Supporting Actor-Robert De Niro. Part Three was nominated for 7 Oscars. Excellent trilogy, worth buying-9/10 overall-sorry, i don't use a scale of 1 to 5. I prefer 1 to 10.

Very Pleased. This DVD was very entertaining to watch over and over again. This is a classic to be enjoyed over years to come.

The DVD set of the Godfather was in unused package, brand new. Very satisfied with the set. Would buy from the same seller again and know that what I buy from him will be in the same condition.

The godfather trilogy is a must have. I bought this for my husband as everytime one of the films is on TV he is watching it no matter how many times he has seen it. He says that he just does not get to see the whole film as he falls asleep. I have now solved this problem he can back up the movie to where it left off.

The Godfather movies were being shown on American Movie Classics channel, and I was missing parts of them due to the length of the movies and the commerials. I had trouble following the story line that way, so I decided to rent them. I would have had to rent each one separately, so I decided to buy the set instead. I'm glad I did. I can watch them at my convenience, and didn't pay a whole lot more than if I had rented.

What can be said about Godfather 1&2? Must have in all DVD collections.
Great movies. 2 out of 3 is not bad.
Part 3 had moments, but Sofia Coppola is the Jar Jar of the movie. Better director than actress. Garcia's character should have expanded a bit more.

4th disc is a must have. Good featuretes and additional scenes were great esp. what was left out. Unfortunately, there is a still more material missing from G3. Only thing surprised missing was an updated interviews with cast. More details from them of their experience. The Inside Look special (from HBO) was good but a few years old. Made around time of G3.

Every male lives their lives by this movie. haha. no but seriously, this movie is a all time classic. i bought this on dvd because ive had this movie on vhs for quite sometime now and the quality is horrible. glad to have found this dvd set for such a good price

I loved the deleted scenes. They should had all made the movie. They really would have added to the movie and made it closer to the book. I bought this product because these are the finest films ever made and only compimented the what are the greatest novels ever written.

It was a gift for my son -in -law's birthday, he loves the god father and wanted the dvd in stead of tapes,so I really could not tell you much about the movie I have not seen it yet.

I liked to watch all 3 at once, rather than waiting for them to come on tv seperatly. This item was used, so I can't say it was perfect, but it was very good. Maybe a 3+ or 4- out of 5.

Just need for collection. Saw a edited showing on TV and was not happy with the editing. Always wanted the collection anyway. Seized the opportunity.

This has so money great actors and it tells the life of a mob family living in the U.S. and in Europe ofhow they were brought up by their parents and older brothers. There is a lot of violence in the movie. During the early 1920's this how the mob families lived, worked and was raised up from early age. This is one of the all time best movie ever made, excellent director and great stars.

I had purchase the Godfather DVD Collection and it was all and more than I excepted. I had purchased to collection for a gift for my father. He has been wanting the set for a long time. He loved it and now wants the Sopranos collection. Well the product was all or more than I excepted thanks.

Great classic Brando, Pacino. Great series from the great books, I have seen these all before a long time ago, but I am rewatching them now. And now my sons are getting to see these classics for the first time.
