This series is must have for any kristy mcnichol fan. A thoughtful script, fantastic cast. A program unmatched by anything on primetime now. A show the whole family can watch and enjoy together. Miss the late 70's?? THIS SHOWS FOR YOU!!!! TWO THUMBS UP!!!! EXCELLENT!!!!!
This show brings back lot's of memories. It's hard to believe how long ago it was on. The networks ran a lot of high quality drama shows in the pre cable/satellite days. All of the actors do a good job. The first season is short as it was a summer replacement. The DVD quality is good. Obviously some of the clothes, cars, etc. are dated but that's part of the run in watching it.
This was an excellent series back in the 70s and still is excellent. The acting was superb and the subject matters that they tackled at the time was innovative and is still pertinent in the year 2007. I watched the series when I was a teenager and appreciate the writing and acting skills that it took to pull this series off now.
I was excited to see this 70s hit tv show made available on dvd especially since it has not been rerun on tv in over 20 years. The picture and sound quality of each episode is excellent and there isn't a single moment edited out as tv sometimes does. It might have been nice to have some recollections included from the surviving cast members, but this is still a class A dvd set with all the episodes in the same order as when the show first aired.
I remember watching this series when I was younger. Way younger. I always remembered it so well because it dealt with real life issues (e.g., divorce, abortion, puberty, etc.) without "prettying" solutions up. The family fought hard, loved hard and always pushed through. They may have had more than my family did financially, but they dealt with alot of the same issues. So NOT the Brady Bunch. When I saw that this had been released I had to rent it from Netflix just to check it out for old times sake. Surprise! My 16 year old daughter fell in love with this series right along with her Mom. This was one of her favorite Christmas gifts this year. She just loves Willie. Of course, I have to remind her that he would be like... um OLD now... (at least as far as she is concerned). Anyway, loved it in the 70's - love it again in the new millenium.
Loved the program in the 70's and was glad to see it available on DVD. I bought it online with shipping and everything it was a better price then the store.
