This movie may be about aliens, but it is a great movie with a great cast to play in it. I have always loved this movie and I recommend this movie to any SciFi fans who have an imagination.

The Faculty is a fun Sci-Fi Film...Good cast, campy, but a fun story, with plenty of scares and aliens. A great sci-fi classic.

Body Snatchers Meets the Breakfast Club

I loved this movie. The Breakfast Club meets Invasion Of The Body Snatchers.
The teachers at a highschool begin acting very, very strange and it is up to a handful of students to figure out whats going on before its too late.
Super Effects - science fiction, horror would be the best way to classify.
A Definite in my horror collection.

  Robert Rodriguez presents THE FACULTY

Pros:
Characters, Jordana ;-)

Cons:
Kind of stupid

I ve really begun to question why I liked this movie; I mean it s everything I hate about a movie. Stupid plot that for some reason I found cool in this movie, even though I was well aware that it s premise was stupid. Aliens, I usually dislike most movies that have stupid alien forces, not all Alien movies do I dislike but only one s that just put Aliens there for no reason, and this movie did that. But you know what? I liked it! The initial reason for me renting this movie was because I saw THE FAST AND THE FURIOUS. Now why would that movie have made me want to watch this movie? Well in...

Pros:
Great tongue-in-cheek fun

Cons:
Far too many snide asides, and Rodriguez's hand is a little unsure at times.

The conversation must have been pretty straightforward Kev said the Miramax exec we need another lazy hit. What have you got for us? Well pondered Kevin Williamson (for it was he) I m a bit dried up at the mo, what with Dawson s Creek and the Scream sequels taking up most of my time. Although I am entertaining the idea of a post-modern view of old gangster movie A long sigh I ll be honest with you Kev, I m not too sure about this whole ironic theme. It was great at first, don t get me wrong but now it s all a bit washed up. Let s be honest, this sarcastic breed of film making is all a bit...

Aliens in school? That explains a lot

Pros:
decent acting, good soundtrack, a few tense moments

Cons:
More holes than a fisherman's net in this plot, incredibly unbelievable ending

You know, growing up, I remember thinking that a few of the kids at my high school (and quite a few of the teachers) could have been from another planet. I mean, who else could have been responsible for that big hair thing? Robert Rodriguez directs The Faculty, a sort of Invasion of the Body Snatchers for the teen set, in which strange happenings are afoot at a small town high school. One by one, the faculty seems to be changing, and not necessarily for the better. The students are then assimilated, with the exception of a few who figure out why everyone is acting so darn weird. The Faculty...

  Derivative, Contradictory Fun!
Review created: 05/05/00
by: bill_chambers -- a member of Epinions

Pros:
Enjoyable

Cons:
Mediocre on so many levels

Before Kevin Williamson came along, could anyone other than film geeks/freaks name a living, working screenwriter? Williamson's name on a movie s credits (sometimes above the title) is a signal to teenagers that they re in for some post-Gen X irony his screenplays presume everyone born after 1980 grew up in a video store. (Often, as he s cribbing a plot, he ll refer to the source the Breakfast Club episode of "Dawson s Creek", for example.) Williamson is, in some circles, even hipper than Quentin Tarantino. T2 s Robert Patrick stars in the Williamson-scripted The Faculty as a pent-up high...

  Questions pondered during 'The Faculty'
Review created: 02/08/00
by: mrbrown -- a member of Epinions

Pros:
Great effects; a twisty, fun story.

Cons:
Undeniably derivative.

Questions pondered during The Faculty: (all apologies to Roger Ebert, whose Halloween: H20 review inspired this piece) *Why do all (or, at least, most) Kevin Williamson scripts begin the same way? That is, with an extended set piece that ends with a murder, usually of a recognizable star. Here it's Cheers and Chicago star Bebe Neuwirth, who plays Miss Drake, principal of Herrington High School, located somewhere in Ohio. *Why do high school movies always bunch together a diverse range of students who would never interact in real life? The film's focal group: Chilly newspaper editor Delilah ...
