Ok This is a really great game. Lets start with the pros..

The story of this game is very invovled and just keeps getting better and better. I did not just do the main quest, which I am sure some people will do, but I hit up the thieves guild to start m journey. Now I have been playing this game for 20+ hours and Still have obly completed about three of the main quest in the game. So There is a whole bunch of things to do. You can pick from about 12 different races, and 4 major classes. Warrior, Thief, Mage, Cleric.. Of course you can cusomize a class to fit your needs. Some Melee and some magic. Some stealth and some magic. Pure Magic, Pure thief.. How ever you want to do it.. You can really get into the custmazation of your player.. I must say it took some time just to get the hang of certain things in the game.. For the most part though it goes along pretty smooth.

The graphics for this game are A+ they will not dissapoint..

Gameplay A All I can say is that My Wife plays this game and loves it.. So for all those guys trying to sell there wives on a game. this could be it.. Very Girl FRIENDLY

Cons

There is a lot to do in this game and there is even more things you can do with your player.. Keep on your toes. The 7 major skills is how you level so choose your class carefully.

Picking locks.. (xbox 360) Hit the tumbler up and when it reaches the top hit a.. if you get it, it stays up.. if you miss it breaks your lock pick.. BUY LOTS OF LOCK PICKS YOU WILL NEED THEM!!!!! I did not understand this at first so I had to do a little research...

When you start this game there is real no direction.. You can do whatever you want to.. You can do quest walk around the town, walk to other towns. Find caves.. Explore the map.. harvest fruit, vegetables, flowers to make potions.. It really is endless.. I just walked around and checked things out and mess around with some quest until I was familiar with the game.

OVERALL GRADE A Great game!! Worth the delay... I was surprised This is the first ElderScrolls I have played and I really enjoyed it. I like doing so many things in this game.. Fixing weapons, making potions, learning magic, stealing things.. Very Fun game..

If you like RPGs CHECK THIS GAME OUT!! It might overwhelm you ar first, but stick with it..

Wonderful RPG - choices, choices, choices...

First RPG for the 360 - well worth the delay. No slow down as seen in the demos, in depth character creation (you can even create your own classes), beautiful visuals with plenty of interaction, & an excellent voice cast. I have progressed through the early parts of the game, but it seems like it could be a 300+ hour RPG.

  Oblivion
Review created: 07/08/08
by:

The game is gigantic. The world is larger than one could travel, and very impressive- the game remedies the travel times by allowing you to 'skip' to certain cities.

The graphics are beautiful, but aren't quite what one would expect from an Xbox 360. The character models seem slightly primitive, especially when jumping, where it seems the character goes stiff and just lifts off the ground. By repeatedly pressing the jump button, one can avoid moving at all when traveling. Sword combat is straightforward: You press a button, the character swings a sword. The graphics echo this simplicity: Your arm will be waving back and forth in a dull flailing motion.

Other than the small issues, though, the game is immersive and has complete freedom of choices. Be a thief and rid the rich of their excess, or be the mage and wield the immense powers of magic..k? to your benefit.

Excellent 3D graphics and well designed game play.
Review created: 07/06/08

I'm a newcomer to RPG's (Roll-Playing Games) on the Xbox-360, but I must say that TES4:Oblivion is a game that blew me away! The graphics are supperb, and the overall game-play was well designed. The only negative that I have about the game is the limited dialog from the NPC's (Non-Player Character). It seems like no matter where you are in the world of Oblivion, and no matter which of the NPC's you talk to, they pretty much repeat exactly the same lines. Other than that, I am totally impressed with the game and I highly recommend it to anyone interested in a quality RPG.

Get one for FREE!!! Have a look at this video first:

Just take 2 minutes and read this. This is very EASY to do! It literally
takes 10 minutes to setup. Simply follow the steps below. I promise you,
this is 100% real. I will answer you on any question! Here is what you
do. Click on the link below, register, pick an account type (referral is
the easiest) and complete just 1 offer (Very important that you complete
the 1 offer otherwise your account will sit in limbo until you do). This
is not like other sites where you need to complete one offer on 2 or 3
different pages!!! And a lot of these offers are FREE trials with
nothing else to buy...No commitments!!!

There are plenty of cool offers to choose from such as Blockbuster
online, Stamp.com, Netflix, Gamefly which are services you would
regularly sign up for anyways and their all secure networks, why not use
them to get a free PS3 System or cash (I did the Stamps.com for a 30 day
free trial and it never cost me a penny and I received credit for it the
same day). Look at the offers and choose the one that works for you.
After signing up and completing your one offer, simply refer 8-14 people
(depending on the FREE prize you choose) to do the same under your link
(just post the same thing as I have on eBay, and you'll get your
referrals before the auction even ends.)

Then they will ship your PS3 System or your selected item for free, I
chose the PS3 80gb System. No Joke, 100% REAL!!! The reason these
companies make money, is because most people don't bother getting all
the referrals. All you have to do is post it ! They use us as
advertisement by word of mouth which saves them tons of money which goes
toward yours and my free gift. These are legit companies such as
Blockbuster, Netflix, Gamefly etc... You can copy my listing if you
want. You must use your own authentic link though. You will get your own

There are so many good things about Oblivion to list, that I could just ramble on and on. First off, this game will last you probably at least 100+ hours of gameplay time if you do more than just the main quest and try to complete sidequests. I have played this game over 250+ hours total and I've loved every minute of it. The graphics are great, story is good, and just the whole game is fun. There isn't a game like it. Buy this game, it's one of the best Western RPGs out there by far.

  This game is amazing
Review created: 06/03/08(updated 06/03/08)

Starting with the good- The main story line is amazing and the free environment is amazing also. All missions and side quests in the game are fun, and creating your own character is fun to. The achievement points are totally worth it and the game will keep you busy for hours and days on end to get everything done. So there's never a dull moment in the game.

And the bad-Loading time takes a little bit once and a while but the environment is so big its to be expected

Lots of different ways to play
Review created: 05/20/08
by:
sazkion ( 3 )

The game starts out with you more powerful then in the previous Elder Scrolls. In this game you can actually kill mice easily instead of having to spend over a minute or more to try to kill the rat it puts it off very fast. The game starts out with a good story line and it brings you right into the game. The game itself can change in lots of different different ways. You could even be a vampire if you really wanted to. The game offers a lot of ways to play the game so it can always be different each way you play.

I like how you can change you can customize you person but later in the game it would take a long time to change them again. My favourite thing about it and the main reason I bought it was that it is a very long game that takes a while to beat and wether you want to play for 10 miniutes or 3 hours you can pich up where you left off. Great game for hardcore gamers.

I have worn out one CD, am on my 2nd. Great game!!!!!
Review created: 05/13/08

This game is huge. It is a world. You can play as several different races. Create the look and persona of your character and then go for it. I have played it for over a year and am still discovering new things. For those who love role playing this is THE GAME. So many quests, great characters, challenges you on many levels, and there are literally miles of terrain to fully explore. You can spend days just wandering around collecting Alchemical ingredients. Sometimes I just stop and smell the flowers...it's that real.
Oblivion is my favorite place to be other than my art studio. I hope they keep adding onto it forever.

Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Grand Theft Horse?
Review created: 05/06/08
by:

Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion is a Fantasy RPG, just like Grand Theft Auto is a racing game. Why do I say that? Because just like GTA, there is SO much more to Oblivion than that, and like GTA its a sandbox, yes a medieval fantasy sandbox!

The game is set in Tamriel, and dark times are coming, The Emperor has foreseen his death, and terrible foe approaching. Fortunately he has seen something else, YOU! The player starts out in the most humble fashion, in prison for an unknown crime. Fate casts the player on an adventure of enormous scale to find the Emperor's only surviving son, and heir to the throne. The new Emperor will relight the Dragonfire and close the gates of Oblivion.

The game takes the form of a First, or third, person game, you design your character, with a choice of races, abilities, and classes. The combat system is well executed with a massive array of spells, weapons, and items to use. The world is so beautifully done, and remarkably huge, that a person could play for weeks without ever touching the main quest!

Alchemy is an interesting diversion to the game, everyday items can be mixed to create powerful potions and poisons. Later in the game, players can create their own items and spells, adding a great customization feature.

As already mentioned, the world map is huge, with towns, castles, forts, ruins, caves, and mines to explore. Terrain ranges from towering mountains to forest, even underwater. All are presented in beautiful detail. The player, characters, enemies, and monsters are incredibly lifelike (if you can say that about zombies and skeletons ;o) ) Enemies are varied, and adapt, getting more powerful as you level up.

With a huge map, innumerable side missions, and incredible graphics, this must be the perfect game right? Alas, there is a major drawback, there is NO MULTI-PLAYER! How can a developer publish a next-gen game w/o multi-player? I don't know, but 2K did.

Fortunately the game is well supported with downloadable content, mission packs, add-ons, and huge expansion packs increase an already formidable quest. This gives the game enormous replay value.

In short, I love this game, I just wish it had multi-player, That said I'd give it an A/A+

Review created: 04/21/08

I purchased this game because of all the hype that has been surrounding it since its release in 2006. I only played it for an hour so far and must say it earned all the hype. It is just as good and deep as Mass Effect and Jade Empire. Masterful game in all aspects: graphics, character design, story, weapons, powers and gameplay.

An Open World Experience You Will Never Forget
Review created: 04/20/08
by:

Welcome to your second life. This game has so much stuff for you to do, you will actually be playing it for about 7 weeks in order to complete everything. The atmosphere and open-world feel to it is breathtaking. The graphics are wonderous, especially the outdoors. The part that I like about the game the most are the diverse missions. You will NEVER repeat a similar mission. Sure, you will travel through several dungeons, but each time it's for a different purpose and has a different feel to it. The entire game you will ask yourself "What do I WANT to do next?". There is no linearity to this game whatsoever. You do what you want, whenever you want, however you want. How Bethseda Softworks was able to do all this is mindblowing. But all of this comes at one cost, and one cost only: loading times. Loading times may seem like a nuisance. Loading will take less time if you don't accept the update that pops up everytime you turn on the game. The longest it take to load without the updates is about 40 seconds. Loading screens will only appear if you go into or out of and area. The size of the area you want to go to will effect load times. Room to room takes about 4-6 seconds. Room to city about 6-7 seconds. City district to city district about 15-25 seconds. City district to countryside 12-18 seconds. Countryside to city district 20-40 seconds.

All in all, the loading times definately shouldn't scare you away from the greatest RPG to date. This puts Assassin's Creed to shame. You do similar things as Altair, and then 1000 more weapons, spells, enchantments, bartering, speechcraft, and so much more!

Please, go buy this game and play this wonderful experience!

This is a rare and remarkable achievement--a huge, open-ended, complex, detailed role-playing game that's fun to play and a pleasure to behold. Oblivion not only delivers everything that earned the Elder Scrolls series the devoted loyalty of a huge following of fans, but also significantly improves on the weaknesses of its 2002 predecessor, Morrowind. Morrowind earned recognition for being one of the best role-playing games in years, but the immersive and long-lasting experience it provided wasn't for everyone. Oblivion is hands-down better, so much so that even those who'd normally have no interest in a role-playing game should find it hard to resist getting swept up in this big, beautiful, meticulously crafted world.

Morrowind was a tough act to follow, but Oblivion isn't just better--it's a lot better.

The Elder Scrolls series is known for its sheer size and depth. These are games that you could lose yourself in, spending hours exploring a fantasy world, traveling for miles, or just looking for minutiae, such as rare plants or hidden treasure. Oblivion lives up to this pedigree, putting you into a massive, cohesive, highly immersive world. You get to create your own character--the possibilities for customization seem limitless--and then explore the world as you will. There's a compelling main quest for you to follow, which takes about 40 hours to finish the first time through, but the majority of the game's content is peripheral to that main quest. You can root out evil in hidden dungeons, join and climb the ranks in a number of different guilds, visit all the different towns and try to solve everybody's problems, compete in a long series of gladiatorial battles to the death, break into someone's home and rob them in their sleep, get caught and face the consequences, contract a disease that leads to vampirism and then try to find a cure, buy a house, steal a horse, invest in your favorite shop, and, if you can believe it, there's much more.

So the breadth of content is as remarkable as ever, but the most important thing is this: The many types of gameplay in Oblivion are well-designed and deeply satisfying, even when taken on their own. That's the main difference between this game and Morrowind. This may be a role-playing game, but you could play it like a pure action game, or like a stealth game, or like an adventure game, and it'd still be at least as good as, if not better than, games that are specialized in these regards.

Oblivion does a great job of quickly introducing you to all these different aspects of play, successfully engaging you rather than overwhelming you. You see the world through your character's eyes, but a behind-the-back perspective is also available. Initially you just pick a name, race, and gender for your character, and the game opens with you stuck in a dungeon cell, being taunted by a fellow inmate.

Overall Rating: An 11/10
