This concert is of epic proportions. Absolutely incredible, amazing artists and so selfless. Truly a legacy for George. My personal favorite though is Leon Russell and his incredible far away eyes. He tore it up then and he is still rockin' now. What an entertainer!! PJ
This album is just as exciting as the first time I listened to it back in the 1970's! Who knew we would lose George so young? But his music lives on in his wonderful music. What a wonderful host he was at this really big show in Madison Square Garden, New York, NY! Whether you were around to remember this show or are a younger fan, this album is well worth a listen. The first to benefit the poor country of Bangla Desh. Hare Krishna, George:)
I love the music on this cd especially after seeing the movie in 1973 of it first. You can't help but feel touched. I love the music and all of the stars in it. Awesome from statr to finish. Especially the song, Bangladesh. I am thrilled to have found this to add to our cd collection.
I already had The Concert for Bangladesh on vinyl, but not on CD. Despite the fact that this is over 30 years old, the music is poignant and fresh today. I have always been a Beatles fan and everyone knows that George's talents were always a bit underappreciated because of the overwhelming talents of John and Paul. The Concert for Bangladesh and the music written by George is a testimony to what a great talent and person he truly was! There is also a remarkable musical ensemble including Bob Dylan. This was the concert that started all the charitable concerts that followed. It is impossible for anyone to not feel the empowerment conveyed by this concert! Just get it!!
I never received my cd. So I would grade this transaction poor. I was very disappointed that I never received the cd and also their was no response telling me that I was not getting the cd.
Sound quality is fabulous. It had bonus tracks that the DVD did not have (such as extra Bob Dylan songs.) The songs were incredible and would be of interest to anyone who loves great music from that era. Very much worth the purchase.
i bought this album when it first came out. i wanted it on cd and the file sharing services sounded horrible. i was hesitant about the remastered discs but i must say the quality was excellent. i did however make sure that the set i bought was not an overseas product. i could not be happier.
George harrison was the first to have a benifit rock concert to help the humanities and it worked! This is a Great 2 Cd set, looks and sounds great! Purchase of this cd set still is in part going to unicef to help the children of this world. The sound quality is perfect and as a whole makes me feel like I'm right there in Madison Square Garden. I love this compilation of stars and sounds. There is even an extra added bonus track on cd 2 of Bob Dylan. The title track is the best I've heard, much better than the studio "45" Version.
