I can't wait to read this one myself.

My daughter loves the books and the movie. She requested it for her birthday. These are great stories that have the undertones that I prefer my daughter be exposed to.

I absolutely love this book. I decided to buy this one because it was in like new state and contains all 7 books in one place. Less chance of loosing anyone. The thing I am not sure I like is the cover. It tends to get in the way of reading. Because a person does not want to tear it. Other than that I do love the style and design of this book. Thank you for your time. Tana tlr

The Chronicles of Narnia by C. S. Lewis

I bought this book to give as a Christmas gift to my 9 year old grand nephew. They are the only children stories written by C. S. Lewis and they have religious undertones
I read the seven "Chronicles" several years ago. These are classic stories that all children should read or have read to them. I loved them, and became a child again while reading them.
These stories are appealing to both children and adults. They are wonderful and take you along with the children in the stories to another world called Narnia, where animals can talk and, good and bad things can happen, but with the help of the animals, dwarves and other characters, especially the great lion, Aslan, they win out against their enemies. Each story is different and sometimes the characters change, but always present are the talking animals and Aslan.
I highly recommend this book it is wonderful.

  Books of Narnia
Review created: 12/08/07

My Grandson had soft back books of Narnia, he kept reading over and over. It was actually falling apart! I decided to buy this condensed book for him, and it is real;ly wonderful. Now, he can have a book that isn't falling apart,as he's reading.
He loves this book, and I am very happy I got it for him.

I bought it as a gift. I was very pleased with the purchase. It was a new, hardcover book and I purchased it for the price of a paperback. It was a great buy and I will purchase more books this way.

I bought this book for my daughter,as i encourage advanced reading for a sixth grader. She is delighted with it and will be for years to come.I looked around e-bay for a similar book and found this one at a bargain price.I would encourage purchasing this book to anyone, even if it's a gift. The combined stories make it exceptionally interesting for new readers as well as the advanced. They tend to carry ones attention better than just one book.In conclusion: If you read just one chapter of this book, you're hooked!

  The Whole Series Plus Bonuses!

Although the book would be rather bulky for younger hands, this is a great edition for older children and adults. Not only do you get all seven books in the series in one hardcover, but you get the original illustrations by Pauline Baynes, Lewis's illustrator since "The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe" was first published. If that weren't enough, this edition also includes an essay by Lewis: "On Three Ways of Writing for Children." The essay gives a little insight into how the Chronicles came into being, and also discusses the value of "Fantasy" as a genre for children--and adults as well. He answers the critics who think that Fantasy and Fairy Tale give children a false concept of the world. The essay alone is worth the price of the book!

I had a wonderful time renewing my friendships with all the characters from my childhood. If you are reading it for the first time enjoy the wonderful stories and think on the lessons taught.

My granddaughter is so proud of this book, she had saved her money for months. We had priced the book at Barnes and Noble and at the Religious Book Store, I had never thought to check ebay, when we got home she got on the computer found the book on ebay and told me she had enough money to bid and could we please try. This book was our second try, I am so proud of her for thinking to check ebay she even had money left over to buy a bookmark. Thank-you so much.

BOOK BUYING CHEAPER THAN OF ALL PLACES...AMAZON.COM!!!!

I bought The Chronicles of Narnia Hardcover book for a present for my boyfriend. Using Ebay can be much cheaper, easier, and a lot more personal than using Amazon or any other online storefront. I love the buy it now listings-cause sometimes I can't wait around to bid on things and I really enjoy when people have easy to read, no hassle listings like the person whom I bought this book from. They had everything right out in the open: shipping price, buy it now price, and what the book looked like. I am a lot more willing to put my money forward when there is an actual picture of what I am buying rather than a "stock photo" like some have or like what you usually find with Amazon.com. I had a great experience!!

Intelligent, Inspiring Fantasy Fiction for All Ages

I'm not much of a re-reader ~ once through a book is usually enough for me. But these are different. I read them as a child and was amazed when I read them again as an adult; how deep and encouraging and full of truth they are! I have read them at least 3 times as an adult and would not be at all bored to do it again. Some fiction leaves one yearning for magic powers or the alternate world of the story setting. These books may spark your desire to make magic with what is at hand, in the setting you see when you close the cover. Good moral and spiritual food for children and adult minds, these will entertain you while doing you well all at the same time.

I read the entire Chronicles of Narnia at my childhood. Now, after buying the boxed set of the Chronicals for my daughter, I am reading them all again. It is fun to discuss the action with my kid. I suggest every other mother who may have read these as a child, take the time to go back over them... I assure the full enjoyment.

Narnia series will remain a classic for decades and generations to come. The heartwarming tales of a lion teach children some valuable lessons. I think C. S. Lewis's a great collection belongs to any children's library. As for the contemporary authors I mostly recommend B. Nowiki's new series "Why Some Cats are Rascals". Rascal is just a house cat, not a lion, but he will teach your children as important lessens as did Narnia's lion.
