The Bourne Identity...or is it a lack of identity?

Pros:
an action movie that kept this chick flick girl entertained

Cons:
loud, some plot holes

Well now, lookie here! Four passes to the new Matt Damon movie, The Bourne Identity, based on the Robert Ludlum novel. Never being one to pass up a freebie, off to the movies I went, even though I've never been a huge Matt Damon fan. My only disappointment was that my companions were my oldest son and my brother. My husband, the oh-so-jealous Ludlum fan, was out of town. So, tell me, what's the movie about? A man (Matt Damon) is found floating in the Mediterranean by the crew of a fishing boat. He has 2 bullets in his back, and a laser pointer implanted in his hip. Here's where the suspension.

The Bourne Identity - Who is Jason Bourne?

Pros:
Entertaining spy thriller. Damon as Bourne.

Cons:
A few loose ends.

have enjoyed many spy thriller movies in the past. I've been wanting to see The Bourne Identity ever since I first saw the previews of the movie. I was finally able to go see it with my best friend. We both really liked the movie, and she doesn't usually like spy movies. Since the movie has been playing for a while, the theater wasn't too packed, which is how we prefer it. Though we almost missed the movie thanks to a problem I had with the ATM machine - the thing ate my card. Someone from the bank got my card back, and off to the movie we went, making it with only minutes to spare. I liked...

The Name's Bourne. Jason Bourne. 'The Bourne Identity'

Pros:
Mostly masterful direction. Damon. Potente. I could go on.

Cons:
Very little. Departs largely from book, but needs to.

A lot of people were disappointed by Doug Liman s The Bourne Identity simply because it was Doug Liman s. The movie did not have an especially Doug Liman feel, and generally, people were looking for something more, apparently, Doug Limanesque. (Of course, people didn't like it for other reasons as well) I, on the other hand, love it. Doug Liman, director of Swingers and Go , may not have made something that screamed out Doug Liman Film Here! , but he wasn t supposed to. He was supposed to make The Bourne Identity into the best movie he could, and he certainly did. While The Bourne Identity...

The Bourne Identity: To hell with the Astin-Martin, I want a Mini!

Pros:
Plenty of plot and twists.

Cons:
Character depth? What character development?

I'm rather ambivilant about action flicks, I could skip most of them. But I do like spy capers that have plenty of plot and intrigue. Since I do like Robert Ludlum's books, this one was appealing enough to make me give it a chance tonight. The premise is interesting enough, a man is found floating in the Mediterraean sea with two bullet holes in him, and a rather curious device implanted in him. Rescued and fixed up a bit by the crew of a fishing vessel, he has no name, no memory of how he got there, and not a clue. Matt Damon plays our hero with a hunky, farmboy-fresh look that I had at odds.

I was Bourne in a small town...

Pros:
Great action sequence, phenomenal acting, and kind of a cute love twist.

Cons:
The last quarter seems rushed, did they mean to give it away so quickly?

Wow... when did a week without going to the movies become a hiatus to me? Hrmph, well, this hiatus came to an end Tuesday when I went to see The Bourne Identity. The movie gets its name from the appropriately-named Jason Bourne, played by Matt Damon. One dark and rainy night, his body is discovered floating amidst the Mediterranean Sea. He is taken aboard by a friendly fisherman and his buds, and brought back safely to the Swiss land. He comes around on the way there, only to find himself befuddled by a loss of memory that claims his knowledge of everything from his job to his own name. The...
