The Beatles - A Hard Day's Night (2001, DVD)

My niece who turns 16 y/o tomorrow is a retro 70's lover. Her favorite band, as mine has been since 1966 are the same. Yet she wasn't around when this movie first came out..I was..... I felt if she wants to be a true Beatles fan this is a copy of the original, now DVD of course. To be a Beatles lover you started from "Love Me Do" on........I am just so happy I can share with someone that is next generation and it isn't all RAP stuff. People should look deeper than the POP charts today....where do they think they came from....Tammy C.

A highly under-rated movie, A Hard Day's Night is one of the funniest comedies from the 1960's. Well-written and wonderfully acted by the entire cast, director Richard Lester captures a day in the life of the Beatles. A must-have for movie buffs and any fans of the Beatles and their music.

For those who are true audiophilists, this DVD is not worth buying. All the tracks are in mono, when the previous VHS release was done in true stereo. Audio
is baiscally whatwas record from the 34 year old movie. They had more thqan enought iem to use the stereo tracks. The mono ixes are even avilible in stereo as proof in the making of the movie tpae and the LP Reel Music.

I LOVED this movie! Great music, and it made me laugh. This is one of those movies that you can watch over and over again.

Pseudo documentary of Beatles and reminded of Betalemania. i was 12 years old when the Beatles appeared on Ed Sullivan and the movie brings back the fun of that time. Now I have two kids, and they loved the movie and they love Beatles music too.

The film arrived and I open it as it is a favorite film of mine. Imagine my surprise to find nothing on the disc! I send them a email about the defective
disc and have heard nothing for over a month, sill waiting! I would not recommend this companies delivery and there response to complaints. Perhaps they are waiting for me to just go away?

You gotta love it!! I was 16 when I first saw the film and remember all of us girls screaming out lungs out at the Beatles up on the screen, it was magical! Oh to to young again, it was definitely taking a trip back into time watching this and though it is sad I am not in as great shape as I was in 1964, still I can feel like that again just watching this and forgetting about mortgage payments, bills and who is attacking who in politics, this is just BLISS!!!

I love everything about this movie, It's funny and very entertaining. There is nothing i dislike about it. IT'S THE BEATLES, and that is why i decided to buy this movie. I have also purchased HELP! and will also purchase other BEATLES movies.

I am playing this for an Arts Appreciation class. I see this as a good presentation for students to become oriented to the youth of that period and the playfulness of that early period.

If you were a kid in the 60's...this is a must have. Black & white, yet you are transformed back to the day when everything was better.
I'm sure the kids of other generations may look at it and think it is a little corny. When this was made, it was all new, all original. It may sound weird, but watching it brought tears to my eyes.

I remember this movie when it first came out..I love the Beatles so I was glad I could pick this up in DVD and keep it forever..I've been looking for it. Thank you for bringing out a good thing again..My grandson is fasinated with them now also.Thank you again

The movie still makes me smile. The group that made this movie truly were visionaries - the genius of the Beatles, George Martin and Dick Lester is the more appreciated now.

I can clearly remember my sister bringing home the "Meet the Beatles" album back when it had just been released in the early sixties...You wouldn't think a record would change someone's life as it did....but it did..and as I discovered later it's not an uncommon story. I became a professional musician and owe it all to this group from Liverpool but I'd bet they launched almost all the babyboomer generation's mucical careers......we all wanted to be the next Beatles! As time went on I became interested in other music...mostly jazz but it seems now I've re-discovered my roots. Yes, I think I'm going through Beatlemania again at 56 years old! I orderd this DVD from e-bay, which is where I seem to get most everything these days and watching it took me back to the day I saw it in the theater among screaming girls.... as if they were really up on stage! While I don't see them as the gods I thought they were at 14 I do appreiciate them even more in some ways. They were the first to introduce the self contained group....the combo! They played their own instruments...sang their own vocals (lead and background) and wrote their own tunes. They set the standard for the generations to come! This is a great dvd to have in any Beatle fans collection! It' a great documentation of the time if you were not there and a great way to go back if you were!

If you love The Beatles or even like The Beatles you have got to get this movie. I am sure if you are a fan you have already seen the movie, but I think if you really really are a fan you must OWN this movie!

This was made before the band became really popular. It is of good quality and has good sound, and is fun to watch.

this is the beatles in all of their glory.you get their fantastic music,great sense of humor,and entertainment like no other movie has ever supplied an audience.every person on the planet should have seen this.why have`nt you? this is history on film.the sixties are documented here in the begining when everything was honest and real.yes its only a movie! but one that every person should see.you will be intertained while being transported back to the sixties.this is not a concert or some documentary that trys to be something great or more than it is.this is just a movie with a very weak plot.in fact the plot is just a vehicle to follow the beatles around.this is really what these guys were like and this is the lives they were leading at this time.this is so fun to watch!you will never see anything like this ever again.you must see this because no history book or documentary could ever let you feel the beatles phanomanom as this movie does.and it does it totally by accident.one you will love watching.

Loved this.We had lost the first one and ended up buying another.We have been Beatles fans since they first came out years ago.One of the best.

This dvd is a two disc set, the first being the movie with some extras and interviews and the second is interviews with the cast and people that worked on the movie.Its very nicely packaged and good quality audio and video.I already have a copy of this movie that i recorded from tv on a vhs tape but the quality was not that great and would only get worse with time . I wanted a copy that would last and the price was very reasonable .

Who doesn't like a good Beatles movie? This brings back memories. I bought it because it's better than watching it in pieces on PBS during their pledge drives.

Easy to see why Beatlemania swept the world and still influences todays music and videos. It's all here in black and white. Watch the movie with subtitles to fully hear what is said. The under breath comments were often ad libbed and then kept in the final cut. The actors reviews also show the love people felt when in the Beatles company. You wanted to be them.

The Beatles first movie. A great classic in black & white but still, a fun, zany story with their wonderful songs & music. A must have to add to your Beatles collection.
