This was an easy reading book. I bought it because I am an avid fan of Patterson's writing.. he puts a lot of mystery in his writing.. with lots of twists and turn throughout and keeps you guessing as to what is going on.....I would recommend his books to anyone who loves a mystery........

  What money can't buy

Absolutely loved this book. Jack's brother was killed by rich people who thought that they could buy their way out of murder. Little did they know that Jack was going up against them all no matter what. James Patterson is one of my favorite authors and have read quite a few of his books. This is a page turner til the end & the end will surprise you.

I actually bought this book by mistake and after reading, it was one of the best mistakes I've made. Even though it's a bit old (2002), both long time and new fans of James Patterson would enjoy this book. It has everything you'd come to expect for the bestselling author, lots of twist and turns, suspense and a great ending.

I usually don't like it when my author changes characters, however after getting started with The Beach House and after walking past it several times at Border's, I must say I enjoyed the action as much as other Patterson Books.
We should all have a grandpa like this. If you have not picked this book up yet. DO IT NOW, and on ebay. I paid full price to "Get it Now" but you can have a GREAT read and at a GREAT Price. See my listings on ebay - roxie8769

The Beach House - Interesting, Entertaining, and a Little Far-Fetched
Review created: 09/10/05
by: Javelina -- a member of Epinions

Pros:
Fast pace, suspenseful, dramatic, entertaining, characters

Cons:
A bit implausible, plot holes

I have read quite a few of James Patterson s books, and I generally find them all pretty good. With my busy schedule, I often buy used books from my library, so that I don t have to worry about getting a book back to the library on time. When I saw Beach House, it looked like an interesting mystery, especially considering the setting of the East End of Long Island. (I grew up on Long Island, in Suffolk County). Beach House has a copyright of 2002. My hardcover copy ran 358 pages, but it is also available in paperback. This book is written by James Patterson, and like some of his other books,..

BEWARE THE FANCY HAMPTON BEACH HOUSES
Review created: 07/29/03
by: Granniemose -- a member of Epinions

Pros:
Fast moving....

Cons:
moved maybe too fast. Needed a bit more time to develop secondary characters.

This is another of James Patterson s fast moving thrillers. As it often happens, it concerns law and lawyers. Patterson s style includes crisp, pertinent dialogue, access to the characters innermost thoughts, and short two or three page chapters that move the story along. Patrick DeJonce co-authored this particular book with Patterson. My daughter, Jude, felt DeJonce wrote most of it, but my opinion differs. This is Patterson s fifteenth best seller. He was 27 years old in 1976 when his debut novel, The Thomas Berryman Number, won the Edgar award for the best first mystery novel. He authored..

  The End Justifies the Means?
Review created: 07/03/02
by: jsmorris -- a member of Epinions

Pros:
Great characters

Cons:
The ending

What is going on with best-selling authors recently? My theory is this - they plug away at their computers writing a decent tale and the editor/publisher calls saying the book must be finished by tomorrow. So said author looks at his/her 300+ pages and throws in an ending. Any ending will do. It doesn't matter that the last 50 pages aren't consistent with the rest of the book, hey it's completed and turned in for publication as requested! That's the only viable conclusion I have for the way The Beach House ended (plus All The Queen's Men by Linda Howard and 2nd Chance again by James Patterson.

The Beach House: What a Stinker!
Review created: 07/03/02
by: pluckyduck -- a member of Epinions

Pros:
I don't have to read it again

Cons:
illogical plot, complete waste of time

I hated The Beach House. I'm terribly tempted to just end my review right here, rather than make you go through endless words that will come to the simple conclusion that I hated The Beach House. Misery loves company though -- James Patterson and Peter De Jonge made me go through 358 pages of The Beach House to get nowhere but annoyed, you can suffer through another 800 words or so from me. What's to hate? Let's start with the plot, shall we? The prologue is written first person by our soon to be departed Peter Mullen, narrating the moments up to his death. The illogic in having the Dead Guy .

Dare To Ask Questions: The Beach House
Review created: 02/04/04
by: JiggyJay -- a member of Epinions

Pros:
Addictive, quick read, conspiracies are fun to read about

Cons:
The whole climax is ridiculous, Patterson is not good at writing court dramas

I ve been a James Patterson fan ever since I first read Cat
