The B. Coming - Beanie Sigel Spends His 25th Hour Reflecting

Pros:
Good lyrics, generally solid production,

Cons:
A few production holes, too many guests.

It s said that a man tends to reflect when facing hard times -- such is certainly the case with Rocafella recording artist Beanie Sigel. Finished literally days before Sigel was scheduled to turn himself in to begin a year-long sentence on a federal drug charge, Sigel s third album The B. Coming reveals a man no longer so enamored with the unimaginative firearm fetishes and tales of bubbling crack and that dominate his earlier works. Even those for whom hating the Roc is a favorite pastime will find this LP s title oddly appropriate; the album is one hundred percent Beanie Siegel, but shows...

An accomplished street poet or a mediocre Roc artist; which is Beanie Sigel "B Coming"?

Pros:
Great production overall, introspective lyricism, little commercialism

Cons:
Too many guest appearances, a few below average cuts, it doesn t stand out enough

To be totally honest, I never knew much about Philly native rapper Beanie Sigel, nor did I care. All I knew is he was on Roc-a-fella Records and that he had a past beef with Jadakiss. I knew that I didn t really like him much though, his double-rhyme style used to really get on my nerves. When I went back and listened to his debut The Truth , I wasn t feeling it much. But when so many people came around telling me his new album was dope, I couldn t help but check it out. Finishing it literally days before being incarcerated on a gun possession charge, Beanie s third solo album The B Coming...

Aiming for the Top Spot at the Roc; Beanie Sigel's The B.Coming:
Review created: 04/05/05

Pros:
Hot production, introspective feel, some of the guests, no skits.

Cons:
Some of the guests, not enough standout material.

Beanie Sigel has had one of the more tumultuous rises to success that you will find amongst the gimmicky hit single and mixtape fuelled routes to stardom of the rap world. The Philly bred, self titled thug poet Beanie simply started out as one of Roc-A-Fella many minions, but eventually ended up as the #2 on the label. Having come through a federal drug charge and the ensuing jail time that came with it, the rapper is now dropping his third album, The B.Coming . A particularly introspective, star-studded comeback effort that will surely look to establish Beanie as the Roc s MVP in the wake...

Is Beanie Sigel B. Coming A Changed Man? (HHAW5WO)

Pros:
Pensive lyricism; production

Cons:
WAY TOO MANY GUESTS

From his introduction in the rap game, Beanie Sigel has unintentionally portrayed himself as your average, everyday gangsta rapper. Although he showed momentary glimpses of lyrical greatness on his first two albums, The Truth and The Reason, more often than not, Beanie resorted to spewing tired, played-out gangsta/thug/hustler clich s, glorifying that type of lifestyle as not so much the best way to live, but in his world, and from his limited POV, the only way to live. With songs such as What A Thug About , Ride 4 My , Watch Your B!tch @ss and Gangsta, Gangsta , it was easy to discern...

The B.Coming: Can You Feel It In The Air?
Review created: 06/05/07

Pros:
Beanie Sigel's best lyrical display to date, masteful production, perfect guest verses.

Cons:
"Don't Stop (Feat. Snoop) Prod. Neptunes" That's it.

On paper, this really shouldn t work. Guest appearances on 12 of 15 tracks, production being mostly handled by no-name Roc producers, and rushing to get the album complete before Beans had to serve time back in 2004. That doesn t exactly look like it ll add up to a classic. But with The B.Coming, Beanie Sigel s third studio album, he finally comes through with one of the most cohesive and personal albums I ve ever heard, justifying every single bit of praise that was thrown his way back in the early millennium when he was hyped up as the hottest thing out of Philly. One of the most important..
