The Apron Book by EllynAnne Geisel (2006)

I have always had an interest in aprons. Especially those that my Grandmother and Mother wore. Of course, I seem to have lost the apron my Grandmother made for me. So imagine my surlrise when I found out some of them are in this book, and the ones that are not have the basic pattern to make them. I think this book is beautifully made, with bright vivid colors and very nostalgic. I am so happy I got this book, I just LOVE it and now know what my Christmas Presents will be. The only thing I don't like about this book? It's not bigger!

I bought this for my 79 year young mother who has can sew like a professional! She has taken to making aprons lately, which she gives as gifts. I thought she would enjoy this book. It is a fun and informative book. I love the little sentimental stories that it tells, and the pictures.

I have a love for old linens and vintage aprons, this book is perfect for that. It is really well done with beautiful color pictures and fun, interesting stories. Also tips on making your own apron and a pattern included, just a very sweet well done book. I am enjoying it...I think it will be one of those fun books that you enjoy reading and then re-reading it again and again...would make a nice gift book!
