The recipes are easy and good, but if you don't have the time to cook you get to follow some guides to restaurants and frozen foods. It's a bit hard to plan for this diet if you don't cook a lot (which I don't.) I actually spent a good hour developing an eating plan and a shopping list. The main point is that you are monitoring your portion size, eating breakfast, and eating low-calorie snacks to tide you over.
I actually haven't taken the Alli pills yet. I'm not lookin' forward to the "oily discharge." My car has enough oily discharge without my adding to the problem.
I liked the recipes, I have made most of them and they are good, I felt the book as very helpful in my success. I lost 25 lbs. I then passed the book on to my sister and she was successful too. I just bought another one for myself, mostly for the recipes.
When I ordered the book I thought I would get a small paperback book but it is a fairly mid size book with lots of recipes. I have tried several of the recipes and I like the dishes. The only thing missing was pictures.
The book is very helpful, and unlike most others as far as shopping for food that is low fat, and giving the fat percent for grocery and restaurant foods.
You dont need to be taking the alli pills to enjoy this book. It has meal plans and suggestions for meals. Even suggestions if you have to eat out. It has suggestions for most of the major restaurants if not all the major restaurants and the calories that each food is. I dont take the pills and I highly recomend this book for ANYBODY that wants to keep a check on their calorie intake.
