Texas Instruments TI-84 Plus Silver Edition Graphic Calculator

This device has a rather steep learning curve.
I recommend that you purchase the device for school about a week in advance to read the manual and get acquainted with the features of this excellent calculator.

I used this device for a college-level Statistics and Probability class. The performance was flawless, including the link between the calculator and the PC. Again, debug this USB connection before class starts so that you can "hit the ground running" once class starts. The software installer is fairly straightforward, but downloading software updates from the TI website can be a bit confusing. Be sure to RTFM (Read The Freakin' Manual).

The website installer automatically places a copy of the periodic table in your calculator for use in Chem class.

I highly recommend this device over the older and slower TI-83 models.

I received exactly what I wanted in a very timley manner. This calculator will last me and help my family and I through High School and College.

I needed a graphing calcutlator for my Algebra II class so i looked on ebay. This item shipped extremely fast and was a good price. It was not opened and still included everything.

This calculator is ingenius. I am using it for my Calculus II class and it is a lifesaver. The functions and the graphing abilities are exceptional. The calculator is very easy to use, the buttons make the calculator almost
self-explanatory. I am a chemical engineering major, and this calculator will be all I will ever need in my math class and engineering classes. It has the ability to split the screen into four quadrants, showing you the graph, the equation, the parameters, and trace values, if you want to get that detailed. This calculator has a TON of memory and comes with an instuctional CD as well as a USB port and a cable should you want to download/upload data to another calculator or even to your PC!!

What I don't like about the calculator is that the pixels are large, and when you are trying to trace an X or Y value on a graph, it is difficult to get the exact point you want. Even changing the X and Y parameters don't help. But large pixels are a problem with EVERY calculator I have used
(TI-83, TI-85, etc). The pixel problem is not exclusive to the TI-84 Silver. Also the user manual is not easy to use. You really have to dig deeply to get what you are looking for.

Overall I love this calculator and I wouldn't trade it for a million dollars. If you are a math major, engineering major, or need a calculator to help with complex and difficult equations and graphing purposes, I highly recommend this calculator. I would not use anything but the TI-84 Silver. I got this calculator on Ebay at $50.00 less than what it would have cost me at any major electronics store. A++++

The TI-84 is fantastic-perfect for high level and above school math!! It is very easy to use, the on-line guide is very detailed. I bought this instead calculator for my kid instead of a "fresh" new outfit and do not regret the decision. Nice extra features are coning tinto play in chem class, too!

I bought this because it was a required calculator for my statistics class. I would like for them to have some sort of "cheat sheet" coding sticker on the inside of the cover. Very durable cover, plastic not easily scratched. Great non-skid feet on the bottom of calculator and cover.

we use these graphing calulators in school and it is a very good calculator. I like it very much and it is good for school work in algebra.

I order this item August 12, 2008 and since that day it hasn't arrived so this is the last t ime i would buy something from this stupid website.

it is a good calculator. the most i like about it is it have somany option that i want and need, and i can use it during a quiz or a test. and i buy it on here because it save me 29 dollar.

I purchased the calculator for my grandson as a gift. He needed the unit for a math class in college. To this point, the unit has worked flawlessly and fulfills his needs.

The calculator is in very good condition. I can tell it has been used because there is a carved-in name, which has been scratched out, and a letter has been filled in with marker on the front. Other than that, it looks great. All the buttons work, and there are no flaws in it's preformance. A very good and usefull calculator, and I will be using it a lot in the future.

I purchased this calculator for my daughter (Algebra class). We received it in just a few days and it was exactly as described.

With six children,(ages 19,17,16,15,12, and 10) I had to eventually purchase an updated scientific calculator. The TI-84 Plus Graphic Calculator-Silver Edition was alittle over the top for us, but, because I tend to spoil my children when they do excellent in school, I feel that they earned it. If you want to give your children that "little extra" something that makes them feel like you support their school work habits and want their educational needs met, This product serves its purpose!
It's got all the basics and much, much more. They come looking for this one when others don't have the "graphing" funtion that they need for their homework. My son tells me that this calculator is "awesome". It has "tons" of memory and available space for games, (what else you'd put on here, IDK)(games being the reward after a job well done, of course).
I personally know nothing of it's capabilities, but only because it is still new to our household. We will research it more later, but for now, It's an "awesome" little work horse, and will get many hours to prove itself here!

Excellant Graphing Calculator. Had extra features that were nice. The ability to download information from the internet made this an exceptional product!!

Great product high school student, loves the games on the calculator, he is using tha calulator in AP Physics. He has downloaded the software from the TI website and is now playing games - Pacman, Hangman....
