Texas Instruments TI-83 Plus Silver Edition Graphic Calculator

I received this calculator as a birthday gift from my parents - my last TI-83's batteries exploded and the acid fried the circuit board.. The thing I enjoyed most about this graphing calculator is how easy it is to learn how to use it. The Silver Edition provides a lot of additional features, like the Science Tools Pack. I used this "pack", for instance, to make weight and distance unit conversions quickly. I used this calculator most in my Calculus, Statistics and Chemistry courses. I recommend it, it has more than enough to get the job done.

My daughter is using this calculator in high school. It is most helpful in speeding up her classwork and homework. Homework for her is not such a bore any more.

I hate to pay full price for anything, especially for a teenager who more often than not, loses those things.

Being able to purchase the TI-83 Plus that he will need to use for Geometry and Algebra II this year for less than half the price at the store, was a great purchase.

it has a whole bunch of things for that will help in many subjects but it's a little hard to use at the beginning. you have to get used to it and read the manual.

I remember when I decided to launch myself to the TI world. I wanted a good calculator, since the one I used for school (TI-83 Plus) was slow and had lack of memory. I learned about this one and it was beautiful. Great speed, memory, everything. But unfortunatly I found it nowhere, because it was being replaced by the 84 Plus SE. I don't like that one much and it was also too expensive at the time. Only 4 years later, since I was giving my 83P (I had, in the meanwhile bought a 84P), I came looking for another, especially this one.
A dream come true! Totally in great shape. Brings some usefull APP and also Programs. Speed as I thought and a heartbreaking memory. Came very fast, no delays, bringing with it a CD with Software and a I/O link cable. The only thing I disliked was that it did not bring the Calculator/PC gray cable. But if you don't have one you can always order the TI Connectivity Kit which is cheap.
So, I strongly recommend this calculator to anyone who whishes to buy it, because of it's qualities and PRICE! This is a great machine, buy it if you feel you know how to use it.

I actually have no complants about the product that I purchased. I needed it for school in an emergency and didnt want to pay over a hundred dollars for a calculor that I only needed for one class. I like the option to buy now and still get it cheaper than I would if I had gone to a store such as Walmart. The person that I purchased from was very nice to let me know the tracking number and the time frame in which I would get my item in the mail.

I like it because I finally got it. I bought it because I had to have it for my college class. I like it because its see through as opposed to black.

This item was terrible, it had writing on it and it just looks bad. The seller did not put in description that it had permanent marker all over the front of the calculator cover.

This calculator is a good and reliable calculator. I bought this calculator because I lost mine throughout the school year. I wanted the same one as I had before because it was close to AP testing, and i did not have time to learn another calculator. There are better models out there with more memory and such, but this does just fine.

I ordered this calculator a a requirement for a college math course. Although it is way too advanced for my ablilities, everything worked great and arrived in a timely manner. Excellent value for the product, Thank You!!!

I like it because it helps me with my Algebra 1 class. What i dislike about it is that it wasn't new and it didn't come with a usb cord.

Beware of sellers that offer non-identical items for this product in the same ebay add. Apparently they are trying to save a few pennies or mislead you into thinking they have an item that others do not when in fact they don't.

I purchased a particular color for this device and paid more than I would from other vendors becuase of this. However, after specifying which of the two products I wanted inthe paypal checkout comments as the add suggested I do, I was sent the wrong item.

When I contacted the seller, she first said that she sent the alternative one becuase she did not have any of the other left, but did not bother to try to contact me first prior to sending the item. Later she accused me of not following the checkout instructions, however there is an electronic trail to show that I did.

The only way she proposed resolving the problem was for me to pay to send back the item for an exhchange (for items which she previously said she had no more of), which would cancel out any savings I made by purchasing the item via ebay. I asked for a refund of an amount equal to the shipping I would need to pay to return the item, but she refused. I had purchased the item for my child who needed the item immediately for school, so the exchange time was not acceptable.

Please to not purchase this item from someone who offers more than one color in the same ebay add.

I am a high school math teacher. I bought it because some of my students leave their calculators at home and I have some who can not afford to buy one. This way, I have some calculators to lend out.

the product was sent fast, on time, and perfectly described in the description. i got what the seller said they would give me.

I love the calculator. It works perfectly and is in good shape. I bought it because I lost mine and didn't want to buy another new one. It's definately worth the price. I'm very happy with it.

Great Product!!!It is not that complicated to use, great product for any math class. It is very nice to use in a trig class because it solves alot of your problems

Well, i would have really liked my calculator but the seller totally misled me to believe that it worked when it does not! I can't even see the numbers. I guess thats what i get for buying off of ebay. It said like new and in great condition. BULL PUCKY! This seller won't contact me back because she knows she did wrong. Yeah, lets rip off a single mother $70!! Really cool...noT!! I am done with ebay!

Our daughter needed a calculator for school. After seeing the price of the 83/84 TI calculor, we decided to see if we could purchase a like new calculor on e-bay. After bidding on one that we thought was like new and our daughter could use for the new few years we were high bidder. Upon recieving this item, I was very shocked at the condition of it. But imagine my surprise when we put batteries in the thing and it did not work. nada nothing. So, presuming the batteries were no good, we tried some more batteries. Still nothing. So we contacted the seller and he said there was nothing wrong with it and we did't like it and just wanted our money back. Then we tried a third set of batteries. And quess what? Still nothing. We were very disappointed in this item. It was not want the ad said it was. We learned one thing, not to buy any thing used that we intend on using for a long period of time. We want something that is dependable and we can get a lot of use out of.
