  good game.
Review created: 07/05/08

it works. And it works , and it works, and it works, and it works , and it works , and it works. I think this review is silly, what more do I have to say. If you really want to improve ebay, get rid of this outrageous review bull, I mean this is ridicules. It's like two men gluing their heads to big metal things.

  Great game: poor seller

The game itself is fantastic; one of the classics of all-time. However, it was guaranteed to work by the seller, and it didn't. I was beyond disappointed, as it was a present for someone.

This was a blast from the past. I had played it for years so when I got out the old NES I had to fire it up. Bo Jackson is a stud!

  A classic!
Review created: 02/29/08

When it comes to video games, you really can't do better than Tecmo Super Bowl. It's the first game that I remember ever having real NFL teams, players, and STATS. And I capitalized STATS because that's the real reason we play TSB. To see if we can rush for 3,000 yards in a season with Bo Jackson, to try to average 20 yards a carry with Barry Sanders, and to attempt to get 3 1,000 yard receivers on the Houston Oilers. I've been playing this game since the day it came out in 1991, and it's still as fun as the first time I played it. It's a timeless classic that can't be missed.

  Best Sport Game Period!
Review created: 01/25/08

This is without a doubt one of the best sports games ever developed. The simplicity of play and roster of acutual NFL players made it the best football game of its time. Unlike later Tecmo football games for other systems the NES version is by far the best. Tecmo Super Bowl is one game that will never lose its ability to please the sports gamer.

This is by far the best football game ever created. Very simple platform. I remember playing this for weeks straight. This game may be one of the biggest reasons i did not get good grades at MIT. This is still a classic.

Classic Game. Very fun no matter how old I get. The only problem I have and I thought this when I was younger also, is that I cannot adjust the length of the quarters. Everything else is perfect.

The best sports game ever created.
Review created: 04/25/07

Tecmo Super Bowl is the best football game I have ever played. To me, its the best game on the NES. The arcade-like, NFL Blitz style play, keeps me going back for more. Its been over 10 years since I bought this game and it hasn't let me down yet. It does not only set the standard for what football games should be like, it also has the most replay value for a game then I have ever seen. Get ready, because I'm about to venture into the aspects of the best football simulation ever, otherwise known as Tecmo Super Bowl.

Tecmo Super Bowl is the second football game made by Tecmo for the NES and it was preceded by Tecmo Bowl. What makes this game so great is the replay value and the game play. It was the first football game to have a full NFL license, which means that you play with the real life counterparts which was ground breaking when this game came out. It is very easy to pick teams and the menus are very simplistic which means that it doesn't take but 30 seconds to get a game going. The graphics are also the best the NES can offer and they do not disappoint. The ONLY problem that I have come across in this game is the random flickering of the screen that sometimes makes you lose track of where your players are. Other that that, this game is top notch. The uniforms are true to their colors and some teams even have a home and away jersey. Overall, there is nothing wrong with the graphical elements of this game. The little cut scenes that play when your score a touchdown, field goal, or extra point, make you feel more into the game and add extra life to it.

Now the sounds of Tecmo football is what most people remember. The little tunes that play when you score or get a first down make you feel a little happy inside and will often get you pumped up. They are just some of those sounds that you'll never forget. They add to the quality of the game so much, you often forget where you are. Also, you can choose coach mode and just pick the plays for your team or play in the Pro Bowl. Panning through simulated games during the season makes you feel like you're watching Sportscenter. If you are a older football fan, and you want to play with some of the retired greats, then this game is for you.

Perhaps the most addicting thing about Tecmo Super Bowl is that anything can happen. You can be up 40 - 0 and lose your lead in a heartbeat, or be down by the same and go on a 40 - 0 scoring run. That is what Tecmo is all about. I mean, lets face it, there's no other feeling then the one you get when there's 10 seconds left on the clock and you're down by a field goal on your 20 yard line. You drop back to pass, feel the rush coming and hurl a 100 yard bomb toward the endzone and.........TOUCHDOWN. I know my fellow Tecmoers can relate to that. That alone, is more then enough reason to buy this game. Your are wasting your NES if you don't have this game to accompany it. This is a must have game. If you don't have it, get it.

This is the best sports game for nintendo. It does not have todays graphics but it is awesome. You actually see real stats for your current season. There are real NFL players from the time of this games release. Hands down the best sports title available for Nintendo. This game is just as fun as any current sports games, just the graphics are not high quality like todays games. Excellent game. For any age.

Tecmo Bowl: A Warm-up To Greatness (bargain bin w/o)
Review created: 03/08/04
by: kjell1979-- a member of Epinions and Lead in Games

Pros:
decent gameplay, good learning curve, some revolutionary aspects

Cons:
many missing football features, only 12 teams, no team nicknames or logos, no stats

This review is part of rice75's Bargain Bin Writeoff. Inferior By Association Tecmo Bowl for the Nintendo Entertainment System (or NES) was the mildly successful predecessor to the smash hit Tecmo Super Bowl. Tecmo Bowl, while delivering some nice innovations to football games and sports games in general, seemed like a work in progress. However, you could say that about all the other sports games at the time as well. Regardless, this was the beginning to a great and very successful Tecmo Bowl series that spanned across 6 different gaming platforms. Features Tecmo Bowl was the first console...

Tecmo Super Bowl: When Sports Games Grew Up
Review created: 01/19/04
by: kjell1979-- a member of Epinions and Lead in Games

Pros:
well balanced, polished, fun, real NFL teams and players, relevant stats

Cons:
doesn't hold up to modern sports games, hut hut hut hut hut ....

This review is in celebration of the week (or 2 weeks in this case) leading up to the Super Bowl. I was thinking of doing an all things football write-off, but decided against it. From Ignorance To Obsession Before I delve into the details, let me tell you a tale about the sheer influence of this game. The year I met my best friend he knew nothing of football. He always talked up this show called Star Trek The Next Generation (perhaps you've heard of it?) but never anything sports related other than tennis of soccer. Then I introduced him to Tecmo Super Bowl. After about a dozen games he was..

  Tecmo SUPERbowl
Review created: 04/18/03
by: choppyburn4 -- a member of Epinions

Pros:
Players Identified, Stats kept, all teams, unique gameplay

Cons:
none

Tecmo Superbowl is the greatest game ever made for the NES system and one of, if not the greatest game, ever. This game, when it was made around 1991, was revolutionary. It keeps season stats, has the names of nearly all the players and all NFL teams that were around in 1991 are on the game. There is an exhibition man vs. computer mode, a man vs. man mode, and a coach mode. Full Pro Bowl team rosters are on the game and you can play a Pro Bowl in any of the above modes. Here are some more specifics: Season Stats: The game keeps passing stats, rushing stats, receiving stats, team offense and...

Tecmo Bowl: "Marino Drops Back...Touchdown Clayton!"
Review created: 08/15/02
by: Alkaiser -- a member of Epinions

Pros:
Simple, high-scoring, actually bothered to get an NFLPA license.

Cons:
Overly simplistic, Tecmo's future offerings in this series.

Back in 1991, Tecmo released what many veteran gamers will look back upon as video game football's finest work, simply known as Tecmo Bowl. Back then, games didn't make phenomenal amounts of cash like they do now, but development costs were much lower. People wanted to keep them that way, and they avoided this by not doing things like paying for roster licensing. I can't tell you how many old football and basketball games I played that had generic players, or QA members and friends names scoring on you or intercepting your passes. Tecmo Bowl was different. This was the first step in the major.

an all right multiplayer, lousy single player.
Review created: 06/12/07
by: tommy_lop -- a member of Epinions

Pros:
it dosen't have a bad multiplayer

Cons:
outdated graphics, only 4 moves per team, cheap AI.

I got Tecmo Bowl for the Wii VC a couple of days ago, my brothers were complaining that I didn t get the new Madden for the Wii and they wanted a foot ball game, 5 bucks to get them to shut up well worth it. So I sat down and play it with it, I have said it before and I ll say it again sports games don t age well. Tecmo Bowl may have aged better then some other games but the fact that it s still older then dirt hasen t it helped much. The setup. Basically the way the game works is you choose one of 12 teams, you battle each of them one at a time in a random pick up. Win you beat all of them...
