This book is the perfect book for the beginner. It makes so much sense and is the simplest, most descriptive book to use during a reading. You don't have to memorize any thing, just use it during readings and soon you will just know it. I have used this book for mant years for my self and my friends and family, then my dog ate it, and I found just couldn't live without it. You will never know everything there is to know about the Tarot but with this book you will become comfortable and confident.
It did not include actual cards. It is different then the collection I bought afterwards. It's not a good starter book. More useful for those already interested in tarot and looking for secondary sources.
It gives you a chance to specifically target your question's answers because of the varied topics (romance, papers, health, beginnings, desire... and many more). I collect oracles and this book is the best yet.
The item came in good condition, as it was promised. I decided to buy it because I’m studding the tarot. This book explains the cards one by one in 32 different categories. Very interesting and thorough.
This is an excellant book to help you get in touch with your own intuition. It is written in such a way to keep you from getting mixed messages and helps you to discern the answers without emotion and guessing. It is a great guidance tool.
This tarot book is really good, the difference with other tarot books I got is that you got 32 categories for each card depending of the question that you looking for, if you looking an answer for your next job you go work/careee section and so for other question that you might have for a tarot reading, the categories are realy universal question like romance, home, friends, family, etc. So if you new to tarot reading this book is perfect to start with.
I love that it is very helpful for someone who is a beginner at Tarot....the reason why I bought it was because it came highly recommended since i am a beginer.
I bought this in 89 because it looked like a good reference. While it is a bit simplistic for someone who has studied for many years, Garen's book is perfect for those beginning or who consider themselves intermediate.
One of the things I liked the most was her concise definitions of the various cards. She doesn't burden the reader with too much detail. A good reader must rely on their intuition and many books get in the way of that. Garen's book does not.
I did not rate this as a 5 out of 5 due to the fact that I thought the book could have been organized more intuitively. Still, if you are looking for a good overall book for a new Tarot reader, this is one to have on the bookshelf.
