While I still am in agreement that there is no one lense that does it all, this one comes close. If you are looking for 1 lens that you can leave on your camera for all ocassions this is it. It has moderate wide angle for digital (taking the 1.6 crop into consideration) and great zoom range. It does have its pros and cons (as any lens with a 10X zoom will), though, but I think the pros out way the cons.
Pro: 1. Light weight 2. Covers a wide focal area 3. Great walk around lense 4. Photos are sharp and clear at lower end 5. Could go on and on with more, so will stop here
Cons 1. Photos do get a little soft at long end of zoom 2. That pretty much covers it
So if you are looking for 1 lens for travel, or just don't like changing lenses, then this is the one for you. If looking for professional quality photos, i think I would recommend going with Canon's L Series of lenses (as this is what they were designed for).
I like the fact that this is lightweight and that it covers from almost Macro to telephoto shots. This lens really shines at around 30-40mm It has taken some great landscape and portrait shots
The pros are listed above the cons are - It does not meet the quality of the Canon "L" series lens but no other lens does.
very clear immages wether it's close or far away. very smooth focusing and great pictures. pictures are bright, clear, and colors are brillant close or afar. thanks
I already had this lens, but not a DI. There is a bit more in and out focusing when on AF. But I do love this lens. Great range. Affordable price. Light weight. compact. Versatile.
I like the small size of the scope and it's a great fit on my tripod. I bought it to replace the one that I have that is slightly larger. Also, the person that sold it to me gave me great service. He was prompt in mailing it to me once he received my payment and shipped it to me just the way I wanted. He also answered all the questions I had.
