What a great concept! Can't decide which Nintendo mascot is the best? Why not duke it out for the title? And that's exactly what this game is all about. Super Smash Bros. was released in April 1999 for the Nintendo 64. You could choose from 12 popular Nintendo characters, all of which use moves they are known for to fight other Nintendo characters. For example, Mario can shoot fireballs, and Kirby can copy abilities. Nintendo took a risk by releasing this game, and it payed off, making Super Smash Bros. one of the most popular N64 games. I would only recommend this game if you have other people to play against. While the 1 Player Mode is fun, the Multi-Player modes are what really makes this game shine.

first started playing this game found out it a it just a fighting game but this was very diffrent then other fighting game found out u beat all your opponets badly then just kick them off the course not easy they will try any thing 2 stop u fun 2 play 4 all ages SSS rank worth playing

This game was way ahead of itself when it came out on the 64. An all out melee of fighting with different characters from the world of Nintendo make this a very unique game.

My 12 yr old son wanted the game. He loves it! Thank you! He looked for it in the stores & either he couldn't find it or they wanted way too much for it!

I had previously owned this game, but I lost it some years ago. It's just as much fun as I remember.

loved the game when i was a kid, now i'm in college and thought it would be fun to play some of the legendary games i grew up with.

This game is basically the only reason I bough an N64. If you have an N64, you MUST get this game! This is a fighting game where you have plenty of different characters to choose from. You can also pick your difficulty level and some other settings like it. There is a career-like mode where you have to beat a number of stages to win. The most fun you will have is if you invite 3 of your friends over and all 4 of you battle each other at the same time. It will get loud and it will be fun.

Super smash bros is probably one of the best games ever made. The simple controls make it easy for anyone to play, though it may now have the best graphics. That doesn’t stop the high speed fighting chaos and comic mischief that anyone of all ages can enjoy. The game allows you to play as one of twelve of your most favorite and memorable Nintendo characters like Mario, Pikachu, Kirby, Link, Samus Aran, even unlock other characters like Ness from earth bound or Captain Falcon from F-Zero. The replay value on this game is endless. It’s one of the first fighting games I seen were even somebody with a strategy can still be beaten by a novice player. VS. Mode lets you play with up to 4 people on the same screen in a chaotic free for all battle, or custom team battle, 2 on 2, 1 on 3, or 2 on 1 on 1. In 1P mode you can chose to train your fighting skills or practice the mini games. You can chose to play an adventure with your favorite character in 1P Game; Were you battle the other Nintendo all stars in an arcade style battle with some unique twists. With the various modes of play, and endless possibilities, super smash brothers is sure to make it into your prized game collection.

I've always really enjoyed this game, and I guess you can call it nostalgia, but I wanted to get my hands on it again. So I did. And it's awesome.

After playing all the new ones, though... As great as the original is, it just doesn't compare! But this game definitely got a lot of love and a lot of attention straight out of the box.

I love the graphics on this game! This game is very fun to play because it is so user friendly. It offers so much in choices, including but certainly not limited to having up to 4 players and I think those are some of the many reasons why this game is so popular! This is one game I highly recommend!

I remember when Super Smash Bros. came out, mostly because tha was the only thing my friends talk about. They were always talking about how they beat Master Hand, or how they spend all night playing with their friends. I was so curious, all I wanted to do was play the most talk about game. I played it in my friends house and I was hooked. I played all night until my eyes shut. A month later I tricked my friend into trading me his copy of SSB for my strategy guide of Pokemon Gold and Silver. I erased the data and started playing the game and of course fell in love it.

Gameplay
The gameplay is very simple. Every character has three special moves, several smash attacks, a special grab, a taunt and can use the shield. Every character is unique and every ones has very different moves(exept Mario and Luigi, but how cares). Some are slow but strong, and others are fast but a little weak; and with its 12 playable characters(Four hidden), you will find a lot of variety. Also you can use different items like shells and fans. Also the game supports 4 player multiplayer. You can play against everyone or in tag team or even handicap.The multiplayer is the heart and soul of this game. In short words: it is a blast.

Graphics
For its time the graphics were outstanding. They are in 3D but you fight in 2D. You can recognize every single character at first glance and the stages are very detailed too. Also the game has some decent special effects.

Sound
The game doesn't have the most original soud effects but you can recognize the classic tunes from Zelda, Mario, Metroid and the other games. The sound effects are actually lame but doesn't hurt the actual game.

Closing Comment
even ig the game doesn't have all the bells and whistles of Melee and Brawl, the game is great. If yiu haven't played the original yet you should play it right now. It is that good.

This is by far the best n64 has to offer. i have played this game non stop since i have had my N64. yes that is about 10 years. the game is even more fun when you have 4 people all playing at once.

I bought the Super Smash Bros. game for Nintendo 64 a few months ago and my son and husband have a ball playing all the different stages of the game. They have no complaints about the game, but I do think i paid a little too much for such a limited game. I guess it costs more due to the fact that it's an older game and probably will go up in value as long as it's kept in good shape. It's user friendly too.

Hands down one of the best nintendo 64 games. still a blast to play especially with 4 people playing at once. never get bored of it.

I am unable to fairly rate this product as I have not used it yet. Immediately upon recieving it, I began opening the package. There was a strange yet powerful odor which caused me to cough for a while. Subsequently, I had upper respiratory irritation for the following few days. I did not complete opening the package which also contained a nintendo 64 console. I dont know what to make of it.

This is the best N64 game ever. The game never gets old. There is always something to unlock. The characters are all great and have their own personalized moves and sounds.
