Jason is engaged to Elaine and they are saving all their money to purchase the dream house and get married. His sister shows him a tape he made a while ago promising to pay for his niece's college. He now needs $30,000 and engages his good ole pal Duff played by Tom Green who comes up with some bizarre ways...
The review above that describes this as trailer trash has it right. This was crude and ugly. I kept thinking it HAD to get better. But it didn't. The plot had potential, but it was never realized. Don't waste your time and money.

Pros: A couple of funny moments
Cons: Only a couple of funny moments, Green overdoes it
Stealing Harvard is the type of film that will draw in a lot of people by the quality of its trailer, but then once inside the movie, they will realize that all the best stuff was what they saw in the trailer. This is not necessarily the worst thing in the world, since the funny scenes featured in the trailer are genuinely funny, but it is to say that you're not going to be rolling with laughter for the entire duration of the film. The film has all of the right ingredients for a sleeper comedy hit - the established, well-liked young actor in Jason Lee, the off-kilter comedian de jour in Tom...

Pros: Some funny moments
Cons: Not enough, the ending
Have you ever seen a movie that looked so stupidly funny, that you figured this must be some sort of spoof movie (like Scary Movie, Spaceballs, Robin Hood: Men in Tights), but at the end of the movie, you realized it was just another wasted product that you decided to buy/rent. If you've ever seen "Stealing Harvard", you have. "Stealing Harvard" stars Tom Green

Pros: I get to trade it at blockbuster
Cons: No comedy, poor plot, worse subplots, lack of believability
This movie is a comedy. Or rather, this movie desperately tries to be a comedy, but fails completely. This film has two minutes of very funny moments, which makes for a great preview. Unfortunately the remaining 80 minutes of the film is a completely unfunny documentary about overpaid actors doing lines in front of a camera. Watching this was painful, and as such I give this movie a generous one star. This movie contains that whiny woman from Will and Grace Megan Mullally. She plays Elaine, described by her brother John (Jason Lee) as sexually indiscriminate trailer trash. This is one of the..

Pros: Let me get back to you on that.
Cons: Wastes good actors and bad actors alike.
A strange, bland little comedy that does manage a few laughs, "Stealing Harvard" isn't as promising as the credits would seem - especially with Peter Tolan ("Larry Sanders Show") as one of the writers. The film stars Jason Lee as John Plummer, a low-key good-guy, Lee-ish character (see also "A Guy Thing") who made a promise to his niece Noreen years ago that if she ever got into Harvard, he'd pay for it. When he visits his sister Patty (Megan Mullally), she helpfully reminds him via videotape of the promise that he made all those years ago after Noreen was in tears from losing a spelling bee..
