Uplifting. Thoughtful. Moving. Powerful. Poignant. That's just for starters. This is a must-own for anyone who is from the south, has family in the south, or has ever visited the south. Much more than a southern songbook, though, Grace is a slice of Americana. It is a horn of plenty overflowing with tales of hope, of life, and of Pierces own quirky observations about the world around him. For those of you who have never heard Pierce Pettis perform live, this is the next best thing. Pierce's 6th studio recording projects the same type of passion and energy that are so evident in his live performances. On this CD, more than any of his others, Pierce blends a variety of musical styles from folk, to bluegrass, to rock and blues. There is no manufactured music on this CD, no synthesizers or orchestral strings. It is all authentic instrumentation. The songs display Pierce's mature and thoughtful approach to song writing.
