Battlefront II- highly recommended for a challenge!!

The graphics are great, and the options that they give you are a plus, especially when you get to a tough planet and you have the option to use a jedi as a leader for your group, which I thought was awsome. I would highly recommend this game to everyone who likes challenging games or just loves Star Wars like myself.
I had a hard time getting use to the controls the first few times around, but once you get the hang of it, you don't even notice it. My son especially liked the game because he could control either clone troopers (which he loves clone troopers anyways) or the super battle droids. If you are skeptical on buying this game, I hope this review leads you to buying it, because I plan on buying it as soon as I take back the rental!

Star wars battlefronts II is a very good sequel to the original battlefront saga. This game is fun and has many updated game types. You can play as the rebels, empire, droids, and clones. The graphics are solid as is the gameplay. The grenades could be better.They have added space battles, which can be annoying at times, but are fun.
There is a story mode where you play as the 501st clone troopers and must help, then betray the jedi. This story mode is more of a checkpoint based shooter. You can play this on multi player as well, which is excellent.
Multiplayer is the best part of this title. From galactic conquest to story modes to versus each other, it is addicting. Galactic conquest is a great deal more fun than the original. Now you can buy more upgrades, including a jedi bonus which allows you to control an environment specific hero, as well as purchase character types. The purpose of this conquest is to erradicate the opposite team from the map in either space or land battles. It is great fun and supports up to 4 players on the same system.
Another new addition to the game is player profiles. Now all of your statistics are saved and players are rewarded for certain in- game feats. This includes weapon, skill, and health upgrades. For example, kill 12 people in one life with your assault rifle and you earn a frenzy then receive an award rifle. The award rifle will last for a little while and shoots 3 shot bursts. It is sweet.That's not all! Upon getting 64 frenzies with your profile, you will permanently gain the award weapons. This goes for all the bonuses for each weapon type and character type. Once you have legendary status in all categories you will be the total package of power, endurance, and skill. Being a "legend" helps you immensely in the story and coop modes, but where it would set you apart would be during on line play.Unfortunately, that is not the case.
Online mode is where this game is ludicrously weak. Having an upgraded character does not help you at all.The one player game online has a great deal of hiccups and lags constantly. When compared to a game like Halo 2, this looks like the oregon trail. It is difficult to kill other players online because they randomly disappear from your screen. Also as far as i could tell you cannot play multiplayer online. That means if you have friends and you want to play against worldwide competition you cannot. Why any game nowadays would not have a online coop mode but have an offline coop mode is beyond me.
Overall this game is worth buying in my opinion. It does get repetitive at times but being able to play as quite a few characters makes it enjoyable. The offline multiplayer is my favorite part of this game. four people on one screen in an epic battle is pretty amazing. The addition of the profiles makes the replay value go up. The game stays "fresh" for a while because of all the different galactic conquests and story modes. I hope that this franchise continues, and the online play becomes more of a focus. An arena mode would be fun for multiplayer, similar to a fps like Bond or Halo.

Highly recommended!This is a great game. The graphics are pretty good for a PS2, but my favorite part is the flying! I'm addicted to space battles. I have a bit of difficulty on the ground, but overall the game is great. It came in great condition and FAST! I was impressed with the seller's speed of shipment.

Star Wars Battlefront II is an excellent game full of surprises for example when you get enough points you can play as a hero(jedi,sith,bounty hunter,etc),and when you're a sharpshooter,assassin droid,marksman,and scout you can use a special aiming scope more accurate than the reticule by pressing down on your right joystick. All in all an amazingly accurate game. So says my 10 year old who it was for.

My grandsons, all 4, love the graphics, easy to follow directions and manipulation of characters. Oldest grandson: "Extreme chaotic battling challenges are 'crazy'". Quess that means its great fun! This is the game they requested. That should be a good reference for this game.

This is a very fun game especially if your a star wars fan like myself. Now you dont just have to watch the movie you can play the movie. Many battles in the game are from the movies. One thing i dont like is there are some glitches every once in a while but not to bad. I originally purchased the first one and was great so i bought this one and is even better hope this helps

Thanks to Battlefront 2, I now have the death sentence on 12 systems.
BF2 steps up the action from the first game, and makes a few steps forward in the process.
What's the same:
There's still a conquest mode, although there is some more depth to it. I didn't play this mode too much, as I was having more fun with the other modes.
Some of the Instant Action maps from SWBF1 have been carried over to this version. But that's okay, because I actually liked the maps from the first one more.
What's new:
There's a new Single Player story campaign. I did play through this in it's entirety. It seems to simply add story and background to the new maps you'll be playing on. I found the difficulty level in the single player campaign hard. In fact, I found this game a little harder in general than the first one. It was a little troublesome at first to adjust, but I did, and the challenge was welcomed in the end.
Also new is the space battles. In BF1 you could only fly ships over land, which seemed weird to do in an X-Wing or Tie Fighter. Now you can take the fight to the heavens which adds a whole new element of game-play. And again, I found it a higher level of challenge.
Playable Heroes are a new addition as well. Now by achieving certain goals you get the option to play as recognizable characters such as Han, Luke, Darth Vader, and many more. You can even have a Heroes only scrimmage to pit them against each other.
The goals are also new. Now you can unlock new types of troops in Instant Action battles to play as, each with their own benefits they bring to the battle. The bonus with all of these new features is that the graphics even look better.
Battlefront 2 is just as fun as the first one, and a great way to extend the action.

Star Wars Battlefront II is an excellent game in my opinion taking into consideration when it was made, which was years ago. Its replay-ability rarely grows old due to the different maps and several different playable characters and leaders. The new space battles add a new and fresh side to the 1st person shooter aspect of the game.
Graphics: Compared to today’s standards, they are relatively weak but frame rate never suffers no matter how many other characters are on the screen or the amount of shooting or explosions. Frame rate is top notch and the graphics don’t seem to have any problems keeping up.
Gameplay: The diverse maps, locations, sounds, characters, and weapons make the gameplay lend some strategy to the game but not much. After about 2 weeks of playing there isn’t much new to the game but for true fans of 1st person shooters or Star Wars will never grow old of hearing a Wookie groan or the sound of Tie Fighters in space. I still play this game years after getting it. Being able to obtain bonus weapons by accomplishing small feats of honor throughout gameplay helps add a few points to the replay-ability factor.
Sound: The sounds are as great as the movies themselves. When a Wookie gets stuck, he groans, when a blaster is shot, you hear it just like you were watching the movies. You even hear the Stormtroopers communicate to each other through their helmets when you get close to them.
Depth: The depth can vary on how you play. I play single-player only so it is limited to a few different modes ranging from conquering the galaxy, instant action, or even the single player missions.
Overall I give this game a solid 8.5 or 9 simply because I never seem to be able to put it on the backburner even compared to the newer games.
