Like the other VHS Star Wars videos I purchased, I wanted to re-watch the series and then resell them as a set. It was also in average used condition which what I expected. It works.

This movie has it all, drama, comedy, moral lessons for life, and love.Sir Alec is at his Oscar winning best in the role of Obi-Wan Kenobi the teacher for both Luke Skywalker but originally his father who chose to reject those teachings and followed a darker path.

This is a visually stunning movie, Even today. This movie, released originally in 1977 was so far ahead of it's time that it's scary. George Lucas pionerred and created new filming and speacial effects tecnices that are still relivant and still used today. Without the pioneer efforts of this movie most of todays big box office hits wouldn't be possible. This film is fun and action pact, it spawned two sequals, 3 prequals, several made for tv movies and many many cartoon series. + hundreads of books, toys, lunch boxes, underwear, toothbrushed, dog holloween costumes and any other bizarr thing you can tink of... Star wars is one of the greatest movies ever and george lucas is a god!!!

Star Wars - Dazzled Me in 1977, Still Dazzling Me Now
Review created: 10/26/01

Pros:
everything

Cons:
nothing

When I was a young lass of 11, Star Wars was released to the world. Those of you who know me and have read my reviews probably are figuring that I am a sci-fi geek-ette anyway so of course I headed out to see it. You are wrong. For months my parents bribed, begged, cajoled and practically stood on their heads to get me to see this movie. I wouldn't budge. You see, a friend at school had told me it was a scary movie and I refused to see it. At 11 I already believed my friends more than my parents. Finally round about the end of August it ended up at the $1.50 movie theater about a mile from my.

Star Wars - a saga, and a merchandising empire, begin...
Review created: 05/11/06

Pros:
Full of action, humour, characters you can care about...

Cons:
... very few...

This isn t going to quite be a normal film review because after all what would be the point of yet another film review of a film most people have seen several times and that s been reviewed so many times already? So I m going to do something slightly different here Over the years I have often wondered exactly why it was that Star Wars became such a phenomenon. Was it really that different from other films that it should spawn one of the largest merchandising structures ever created? Having watched it many times before, and having watched it recently (in fact the whole original trilogy what...

My 200th Epinion Began Long, Long Ago....
Review created: 04/16/01
by: JediKermit -- a member of Epinions

Pros:
Simple story that's applicable to many situations--groundworks of modern myth.

Cons:
Luke Skywalker is a whiny li'l Jedi...but that's a good place to start from

I saw first saw this when I was 4 years old. Somewhat impressionable age, right? Well, that first moviegoing experience (the first movie I remember seeing in the theatre) broke something in my soft little skull that made me LOVE Star Wars. I became a horrid little monster who ate, drank, slept, and LIVED Star Wars. Christmas of 1978, I got an X-Wing Fighter and TIE Fighter and enough figures to keep me happy; subsequent birthdays spoiled me even more and added to my obsession which still persists to this day. What is it about this seemingly simplistic movie that has kept me hooked for so many.

STAR WARS: The Best Science Fiction Adventure In The Universe: (A.) Episode IV.
Review created: 06/08/04
by: Ed.Williamson -- a member of Epinions

Pros:
This is the best Space Adventure movie series created yet.

Cons:
You have to like Science Fiction to appreciate it.

(Note: These three STAR WARS reviews are in celebration of the STAR WARS TRILOGY films, to be released in September, 2004 on DVD as a boxed set, with George Lucas, the man ultimately behind STAR WARS, giving a creator's commentary, along with observations by others in the cast and crew, and a STAR WARS memorabilia disk. This DVD set has been long awaited by many. I have a good feeling about this.) * * * I remember it well. It was a hot night in 1977 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. My wife and I had heard about some strange new Sci-Fi flick called STAR WARS. Tickets were not easy to get for that..

The one that started it all...Star Wars: A New Hope
Review created: 12/19/03
by: alexdg1-- a member of Epinions and Top Reviewer in Movies

Pros:
Its mix of space/fantasy, great score, fun story, and memorable characters and lines

Cons:
It's hokey, sure, and it's no "Lord of the Rings"...but we love it anyway.

It's been over a quarter century since George Lucas (THX 1138, American Graffiti) first shared Star Wars with millions of awestruck moviegoers in the late spring of 1977. Both the director and the studio executives at 20th Century Fox thought they'd have a modestly successful sci-fi fantasy film with "just okay" box office receipts. Instead, bucking their logic and lowered expectations, Star Wars became not only the biggest hit of its time, but it also launched both a multi-movie series and a huge merchandising/multimedia "empire" that made millions for the shy, unassuming USC film school...
