I didnt think that any old-style games could be worthy of the horror genre title. Most of the ones that tried were miserable falures. But, splatterhouse was the first turbo graphix 16 game I have played and is the my number one. This actually scared me at times with its creepy music and great, surprize gameplay. I definatly give this game a 5 out of 5. If you dont have a turbo graphix 16, this game is also available on the Wii's virtual console. Worth every penny.
Splatterhouse is a fun, fast paced TurboGrafx 16 game. I've recently got back into TG-16 after a 15 year or so lay off, and this game is probably thee most fun of all the ones that I've bought to date.
SPLATTERHOUSE for the NEC Turbografx 16 was a smash hit when it hit shelves in 1990 and is probably the best known game on the system. This game is the story of a college student trying to rescue his girlfriend from a mad scientists mansion. Taking place across 7 levels of side scrolling action, players must survive attacks from zombies and other hideous creatures. Fortunately there is a variety of weapons at your disposal including 2 by 4's, a shotgun, and even a golden meat cleaver - awesome! At the end of each stage is a tough boss so players must use their weapons wisely. This game has great 2D graphics and good sound too - even better in stereo. Basically, SPLATTERHOUSE is a must have title for the TG 16 and will definately not dissappoint. Now go out there and get it!

Pros: Gruesome creatures, haunting sounds, and blood.
Cons: Too short and a little on the easy side.
A man in blue must survive in an old mansion filled with zombies, hanging bodies, and other gruesome undead creatures with only shot guns, knives, and even his bare hands as weapons. Sound familiar? Splatter House sure deserves some respect because it's the first real scary video game to be actually scary. Remember Friday the 13th and A Nightmare on Elm Street on the NES and how badly they sucked thanks to the terrible game play and lack of any real horror? If anybody remembers those slasher movies than they remember all the violent content too (the movies were mostly about teenagers getting..
