Ok so your liking the new design of the PSP Slim huh? You probably have the first Piano black one that came out, or maybe you want a PSP because your friends have one and you feel left out. Well The Daxter bundle is a pretty good deal. For one--you get a game, a movie, and a 1gb chip with the system for around 200 bucks. It doesnt get any better than that unless you get lucky on x-mas. Okay so the new PSP is a little lighter and it does seem a little slimmer, but I have had a few problems with it. Some games seem to shut off by themselves during gameplay (ac adapter plugged in or with full battery) with no explanation. And it does at the same spot every time in each game. Like in NBA Live 07 when I get to the 5th game in a season, and I win, it decides that it can't go any farther and shuts off (has done it 4 times) and then with Fight Night Round 3, when you change the color of your create-a-charter's skin; the game will shut itself off (has done it 5 times). I have written emails to Sony about the problem since it happens in my PSP Lite and my friends PSP Lite. But Sony has decided that they can't help me because I can't call them (I am a soldier in Iraq). But besides that, there has nothing that I have found wrong with the PSP Lite. Would I buy it again if I had to make the desicion? Most definately. It still is a great system and it looks great. My rating? A 9 out of 10. Great game platform, but could use more in the volume department. Some movies are very hard to hear and, everything has to be played with the volume all the way up, even with the headphones on. Maybe the one I have is defective??

I am happy with this item and is exactly what I wanted. It is very user friendly and it has more than what I expected. The games are a little pricey but are worth it because of the cool graphics. I do recomend getting a hand strap and protective cover for it, because of the size and potential for it falling and hitting the ground. Other than this, I am happy with my PSP.

Good value, average performance.This PSP package is one of the best deals out there when you take into account it includes the PSP, a game, 1GB memory stick, and all related accessories. All for $200 or less.
Works well, although the loading times for games is unacceptable. I have bought 14 games in all, and they all have too many (and too long) loading times.
Internet access works well, and the ability to customize the PSP (backgrounds) is a plus. Widescreen format looks great when watching movies, although the UMD movies are somewhat pricey.
A great time passer for sure, I've spent many a lunch hour watching movies and browsing the web :)
Overall a good deal, I don't regret this purchase at all!

I bought this for my son for Christmas. i figured it was jsut another video game system. then I learned that it played movies, had Wi-fi and does so much cool stuff. I am now addicted to this thing, i think I will soon buy my son a new one and and i will "inherit this" lol Parents you will love this, it keeps your kids enternatined for hours, and then after they go to bed it will be your turn!

My son wanted it for xmas and this is all he wanted so I got it for him.He loves the item.When you get this for your self or for child be sure to get a case to protect it.Sony has a clear case and it looks very nice in it.It holds games and memory cards etc.

Pretty Nice System, The screen is nice size. It's very light, hard to believe this little machine can do so many things. Play games, Watch movies,Listen to your MP3's, Share your photos and get on the internet. I would recommend one to anyone.

You definitely are getting what you pay for. Simply put, the PSP is an amazing device - it has crystal clear clarity for movies, flash memory for MP3s, and a large assortment of FUN games (as opposed to the DS - but I will touch more on that later). Really, what more could you want?
I don't mean to trash the Nintendo DS ( I have them both), but they clearly are not in same league. This is probably partially by design - the Nintendo DS (Judging by its assortment of games) is designed for kids under the age of 12. With the exception of Super Mario 64 - I have yet to find one game that I enjoy. The PSP already has a much better selection of games, and games that adults actually want to play - notice there is not a "Madagascar" for the PSP. The PSP is designed to be a total entertainment device.
Here are some comparisons and pros and cons-
Graphics-
PSP 5 out of 5 - really they are as good as you could ever expect
DS- 5 out of 5 - maybe a shade worse than the PSP- but still very good
Sound -
PSP - 4 out of 5 Has issues with volume (you almost have to wear the headphones) - but plenty of options for tweaking the set-up
DS - 4 out 5 also a little problem with volume , but not bad
Load TImes
PSP- 2.5 out 5 - clearly this is where the PSP underperforms the DS. The Nintendo DS uses a flash type memory compared to the PSP's optical read. There is a large difference between the two.
DS- 5 out of 5 - The Flash memory is much faster
Games -
PSP- 4 out of 5 - an already large selection and growing by the day. HUGE advantage over the DS
DS- 1.5 out of 5 in my opinion- it only has 1 good game. Supposedely there will be a metroid game released, but I have been waiting for 8 months.
Features-
PSP- Another HUGE advantage over the DS... here is a list of thing you can do on the PSP that you can NOT do on the DS
- Watch/rent movies
- Listen to MP3s off of a flash media card (Much like an ipod)
- view pictures off of your digital camera (or Sony Digital camera at least)
Things you can do on the DS that you can NOT do on the PSP
- draw pictures using a stylus
ADVANTAGE - PSP
Tip: Be VERY careful of the PSP screen not to get it scratched. I can see no easy way of replacing it, and to severely scratch it would be horrible. My advice is (until you can buy the "Real" screen cover) trim a piece of plastic wrap around the screen. The static electricity will cause the plastic wrap to stick and thus protect your screen.
I have purchased an inexpensive case on Ebay for about five bucks. It's made of silicone and completely encases the PSP. Works great and has eased my worried mind!
