Sonic the Hedgehog (Sega Genesis)

Sonic the Hedgehog is a great game if you want to go back to the originals or just want to play for fun!!! It has good replay value, but can be difficult at times. there is no way to save your game so if you lose all your lives, you have to start all over. I give Sonic the Hedgehog a 4 out of 5.


My Rating Scale:

1- This is an absolutely horrible game!!! No one should ever purchase this game no matter how tempting the game box looks.

2- This game is not horrible but needs work and has serious design flaws. Not recommended for purchase.

3- This game is your average game. The graphics aren’t anything to be shocked about and expect a bad storyline and very little replay value. Purchase at your own risk!!!

4- This is an above average game and has good replay value and graphics are above average. It still may have design flaws, but they are small and easily tolerable.

5- This is a very rare game that has beautiful graphics, absolute replay value, and usually was a big budget video game usually made by Nintendo or Sony. Players should buy this game no matter what their genre. A++++

This game is great! It has tons of level to play, many different enemies to kill, and the BOSS comes along every few levels with a new machine and you have to destroy it to go further in the game. This game is very fun. I would recommend it for gamers of all ages.

This game is great! It's fun beyond belief! Theere was just one bad thing about it... you cannt save the game. So if you wanna beat the game entirely, you gotta do it all in one sitting. But besides that one major flaw, the game is fantastic! And i would highly recommend Sonic 2 which is even more fun!

Very fun Very fast Very addictive. It all started with this game. Who wouldnt want to own the first Sonic game (if you are a Sonic fan).

I bought this game because my kids and I use to play it when it first came out many years ago. I missed playing now that they are all grown and out of the house. I didn't want to spend a ton of money on a new system so i bought an older system and now play all the old fun games on it with my grand kids. It is a blast. I would recommend it to everyone. A step back to when it seemed times were simple.

I bought the Sonic the Hedgehog game because I used to play it as a kid and I wanted to buy it for myself to have. The game works very well and is still a joy to play. Thank you for the game!! :)

Sonic the Hedgehog is one of my favorite Sega Genesis games of all time. I played it for the first time in 1991. It was the the best experience ever. The colors are excellent and the music is great too. Marble Zone, Spring Yard Zone, and Star Light Zone are my favorite levels. Sega did a great job with this title. I like Sonic way better than Super Mario Bros. Everyone should own this game. It is a classic and there are plenty of copies for sale on here(as low as ($0.99). The game was challenging to me when I was younger, but I have beat this game many of times now. If you don't have this, be sure to add it to your Sega Genesis library. I bought the game few weeks ago - just what I expect - the only point I waited longer time than expected to get it.

This game is timeless and a classic. Sonic is Character from the silver Age of Video Games. Like Mario, Zelda, and Metroid, Sonic has a series of games and this one started it all.

Speed , speed and more speed, this game is fast paced and great for Kids of all ages. It is fun, challenging the graphics are way ahead of its time. Buy a Sega Genesis System just for this game alone.

Great game to own and worth buying a Sega Genesis just to have. You will have to have fast reflexes to master this game and find all the secrets obtained within! Great graphics for its day and a blast to play for hours!!

This is a cute video game. The graphics are great for the older Playstation platform. It is a great story line and the levels get progressively harder. It is a wonder begining to a great saga...

Good quality, great classic game. Wanted it on sega genesis because I had the system yet did not have that game and I remembered it as one of the best ones I had owned previously.

A fun fact: Sonic was NOT the original mascot for Sega. Then who you ask? It as Alexx Kidd and it wasn't going so well, sales were dropping and something had to be done. So out of nowhere this title dropped and it much hype back in the day, enough that Sega dropped Alexx and picked up Sonic and it sure paid off in the long run.

Another fun fact: Tails and Knuncles were originally planned to be playable characters,but due to the lack of color coding and being pressed for time they were both scrapped till later in the series,all of this can be read at Wikimedia and Sonic's Wiki.

This should be the part where I start out with a review, but why? Really? I'll just rant on about how awesome this game was and still is, how from that one game spawned a whole collection of titles, an amazing 50+ titles, several cartoons, and even an energy drink.

The sonic series is simply awesome, a testiment to time and even now when Sega isn't against the major three in console wars, they still are making Sonic games for PS3.

Ive played this game since i was around the age of 4. Its always been one of my favorites. Out of the 3 main sonics for the sega, this is the hardest and most challenging. Its a whole lot of fun and takes a few hours to beat. I would definitely recommended this title to any sega owner.

Despite waiting over a month for the game to arrive from Discountgames, Sonic 1 is a decent and challenging game with interesting music, graphics, and 6 zones with 3 acts in each zone.

Everything About This Item Is Good. I Would Defenetely Buy From Them Again. Game Is Like New, And Was Shipped Very Quick. Everything The Seller Sells Is Good, And Packaged.

Hooked up the Genesis today and spent a few hours playing this one. I left my 7 year old son and I could hear him laughing at this game. He liked Sonic 2 better this is why this one only gets an average rating!
