I love this album it's always a pleasure to listen all these great ballads. A must have for madonna's fan is the japan version which included the song la isla bonita.
I like Madonna but this CD has alot of great ballads on it. It takes me back to my college days. I bought it again because I had it in college and I lost it. There are some great love songs on it. One of which was my ex-boyfriend and I's song.
This is the greatest Madonna ballads collection ever, each song is really beautiful and has something that motivates people to listen to them, just great!! By the way, if you are planning to have a wonderful time with your somebody special then you have to buy this cd, you will never forget that moment!!
I couldn't find this CD in the USA thanks to this company in argentina I could find the cd and a very good price . I get the merchandise in perfect condiction the only thing that took more time that i expect to received it but that was ok.
This is a nice collection of Madonna ballads that keep me calm when I travel. This album also is outstandingly beautiful, because Madonna's voice is at its best and you realize how truly talented a singer she is.
This CD has a lot of the slow, romantic, mushy songs by Madonna. Great for chilling on a night in with your love or for those times when you just want a more relaxed environment without pop or rock music. Listening to these songs will also bring back the memories you had from when the song first came out - hopefully they are good memories!

Plenty To Remember

Pros: Sweet melody after sweet melody; a couple of rarer Madonna songs are included.
Cons: A few songs could have been switched out. Where's "Bad Girl"?
After the sex fiasco of the early nineties saw Madonna being (in her own words) publicly flogged , it was a tough task to try and rebuild her North American career (some would question if she ever truly did). Rediscovering clothing, she issued the placid R n B tinged Bedtime Stories album in 1994, and made another hesitant step towards respectability with the 1995 ballads compilation Something To Remember . Taking in the best of her slow songs, this collection is a cohesive set of tracks that show Madonna easily outstripping her major rivals. Mariah and Whitney may thoroughly trump her in...

Pros: It's Madonna. It's a ballads "greatest hits"<BR/>
Cons: Some of the songs aren't really hits.
Can you even begin to imagine what it s like to be a star of Madonna s caliber? I certainly wouldn t know what to do with that amount of fame, but as Madge has grown and learned to keep her clothes on and mouth shut more, there s a certain grace about her and you respect her for not hogging the spotlight and nurturing the egos of other popstars by doing things like wearing Britney (Spears) and Kylie (Minogue) t-shirts in concert and public. She s an icon in every sense of the word she can create trends and work the media and public into frenzy with hardly any effort, she s like a self...

Pros: Most of the ballads, Massive Attack on I Want You, music wise a nice album
Cons: Madonna's vocal, that is.
Madonna was there all my life. Right when Everybody became a club hit in 1982 in the USA I was born in Russia. If you think I could escape Madonna in my Classic Rock Bohemian home then you re wrong. I never knew life without Madonna. For the United States she s an icon, goddess, something so far out of reach. I minded my own business singing tunes from Evita [my personal favorite album of hers] till I met two huge fans of hers. Surprisingly, they were not Americans and of course, just as any fans they had all of the discs. Probably that s when my serious journey into her music had begun. I...

Madonna: Monster Ballads

Pros: Good Songs, Nice Emotion, Great Lyrics, Timeless Quality
Cons: Could be viewed as Disturbingly Cheesy
Okay, you can call me a semi-Madonna fan. I think she is okay and I really think she did some good songs throughout the years. I'm just don't think she is God like everyone else seems to think. Like when Madonna does something everyone usually does...say like cough...everyone is like "Omigod Madonna just coughed" the same tone like saying "Omigod GOD just coughed". I just think Madonna is an artist that managed to keep her career fresh every second...Gosh dangit she's such a good musician. But thats enough of my ranting, I decided to review Madonna's "Something to Remember" because well, I...

The Ballads - i.e. Greatest Hits Part II
Review created: 05/13/00

Pros: New, Interesting Singles
Cons: There Are Better Choices For A "Best Of" Ballad Collection
With her 1992 release of Erotica and 1994 release of Bedtime Stories, Madonna had strayed from her usual material. She shocked the world with her graphic display of nudity (i.e. her book Sex) and called into question her tastes and talents. The release of Something to Remember started Madonna's transition - from erotic, weirdo chick to a more mellower, laid back woman. Just look at the cd cover - Madonna actually has a softer look to her - unlike the drag queen look on the cover of Bedtime Stories. Touted as a collection of Madonna's great ballads, Something to Remember also includes three...
